“ Great classic design and a racer I’ve actually heard of before! ” -pugchump

“ I like the photo they used, not much else though. Then again, I didn't get into Donruss designs until around 1991. ” -jupiterhill
  2
“ As someone who's not a baseball collector, the throwback designs didn't have as much impact on me as they would with others. I also find it interesting they chose a photo from 1995 and not the more successful years that followed for Dale. ” -Billy Kingsley
  2
“ Every time I see these 1986 Donruss throwback boarders it makes me think of the background behind a Max Headroom video . Now if Donruss would just add the multi image like the Sportsflics cards using the same image for all three you might get the entire Max Headroom ef...effe...effect!!! ” -dettigersmlb
  1
“ This is a peak male athlete in the 2010's ” -parsley24
  1
“ Modern Racing Panini Donruss card using 1980s Original Donruss Baseball design. ” -captkirk42
  1
“ There's only one thing I can think of that's wrong with this card and it's the sad and empty white space on the back. ” -TwinKiller

“ Ddddduuuuuudddddeeeee ” -tinyshogun

“ Donruss is typically ugly/boring and this card, front and back, is proof of that. Dale Jarrett became one of my favorite drivers after he took over for Ernie Irvan after Irvan's horrendous crash. I was happy to see Jarrett continue on with the team after Irvan's return. ” -ketchupman36

“ I like the 86 Donruss design. Somewhat cool to see it in other sports. ” -muskie027

Modern card collecting means they have to have the registered trademark next to the man's name I gues.  Those "circled R's" and "TMs" really do take away a lot from modern cards.  Just ugly and seemingly unnecessary.  Just put all that info in the small text on the back that no one reads.

What's with the empty white box on the back? Were there supposed to be stats there? Or was Panini leaving a spot for TTM autographs?

Panini doesn't do stats for NASCAR. It's just them being lazy with design. There's nothing that's supposed to be there. On SOME cards, they put the team logo but not on all the cards. The fact that he's retired and the team is defunct does not seem to be the deciding factor since some of the active drivers and teams didn't get their logos either.

VERY slow trading due to health problems. Not transferrable so safe to trade with, just moving is painful and can't always access the cards.
