Year: 1995

Set: Wheels Crown Jewels (Rate)

Card: #72 Petty's New Deal

“ Wow, two cards from the same set within a week. That win referenced was his final career win. He raced until 2008 and is now a broadcaster. He is most known as the third generation in the first four-generation family in sports...although he was never the same after his son Adam was killed in an accident. ” -Billy Kingsley

“ For a race card the front is not bad, great photo. but the back looks like an ACEO card. ” -parsley24

“ Racing card without the car - 1 Name/Title hard to read - 20 Brand logo too dang large - 6 No border = ? Back: Looks like a newspaper - 10 Title and logo at top too big - 10 No stats of any kind - 20 Overall not too bad initially but when I do a checklist of flaws starts looking bad. Maybe I shouldn't do the extra commenting. ” -captkirk42

“ As far as racing cars go, I think this one I pretty cool. ” -muskie027

“ I’ve seen a Doug Drabek Upper Deck card with an unusual “Dinosaur “ light effect . Has anyone else seen this card? I’ve searched every database I can; but I am unable to locate any photos of this 1995 card ” -Cynlb669

I was wondering about the hat. But apparently this is Kyle, not Richard.

-------------------------------

I saw the best cards of my generation destroyed by creases, soft cornered hysterical edge wear, dragging themselves through the hobby shops at dawn looking for a top loader...

For those wondering about Uncorrected Error's comment, Richard Petty, Kyle's father and the most successful person in the history of the sport, promised his mother that he would not have alcohol on the cars he owned. He stayed true to that for the duration of Petty Enterprises. Even though the current team bears his name, he's not the primary owner and the car was sponsored by Budweiser for several years.

The no beer thing didn't apply to SABCO Racing, owned by Felix Sabates, who Kyle drove for from 1989-96.

-------------------------------

VERY slow trading due to health problems. Not transferrable so safe to trade with, just moving is painful and can't always access the cards.
