Random Card of the Day |
Tuesday, April 10, 2018Year: 1996 Set: Collector's Choice (Rate) “ My second-favorite UD Collector's Choice set, right after the seminal '94 offering. ” -mkaz80
“ Definitely not the best CC set. Plus, that’s a ground ball swing. ” -IfbBirdsCards
“ Loved Collector's Choice, right in the prime of my collecting years. ” -carthage44
“ If I reach far enough I should be able to reach the guy in the next card. ” -kota5
“ I like horizontal cards, despite my perpetual confusion about the orientation in which they should be stored. Seems like the standard is "rotate 90 degrees counterclockwise to ensure back of card is right side up", but that's not always the case. Speaking of card backs, this one goes a long way toward explaining why 5 years later, former "UD Star Rookie" Rich Becker hadn't really amounted to anything. ” -dilemma19
“ Rich Becker in his only at bat in the majors, squibs one to right field for a base hit. 1/1 career BA leader for the minnesota twins. ” -parsley24
“ Collector's Choice Baseball again is in the random card queue. I think I have said before that this is a love/hate set. I like the looks of them but tend to disagree about it being "Collector's Choice". If I recall the lifetime stats fans get disappointed with these since they only have 3 or 4 years worth. This photo looks like Mr. Becker is playing tug-of-war with some unseen entity to get his bat back. ” -captkirk42
“ Nice looking card. It would be so much nicer if it was just Upper Deck instead of Collector's Choice. Nothing against Collector's Choice, but I feel the extra logo next to the Upper Deck logo always cheapens the look. ” -muskie027
