Random Card of the Day

Tuesday, July 1, 2014

Year: 2007-08

Set: Upper Deck (Rate)

Card: #133 Mike Dunleavy

“ I'm not sure how the Pacers could think these jerseys could be better than the blue and yellow pinstripes that came immediately before them. I don't have many from this set, I was away from the hobby at the time. I sure do miss UD's complete stats including career high game, too. ” -Billy Kingsley

“ Dunleavy was drafted out of Duke during the 2002 NBA Draft (3rd overall) by the Golden State Warriors. He currently plays for the Chicago Bulls but he has played for the Warriors, Pacers and Bucks. Career Stats: 839 Games, 11.9 Points Per Game, 4.5 RPG and 2.4 APG. During his 3 years at Duke, Dunleavy played with other NBAers Carlos Boozer (current teammate w/Bulls), Shane Battier, Chris Duhon, Daniel Ewing and Jason Williams. ” -carthage44

“ Despite a generic font, the Pacers unis are pretty nice. ” -jlaz10

Wow, I missed my first card of the day selection, I thought of commenting on it, so now's my chance...No Comment...I was hoping for Mike Dunleavy Sr. for my first or my preferred first choice of Fat Lever...

I agree with Billy. If I remember right, the last year the Pacers had the pinstripes, nba.com ran a contest to decide the best uniforms in the league. It was set up with a playoff bracket or something, where you picked from two everyday until there was a winner. Pacers won. Next year they ditched them and switched to the current ones. I miss the pinstripes. A lot. (I'm a Pacers fan)

I'm going to reevaluate how I collect after the new year. It's just getting way too expensive for the new stuff.  Sometimes I just want to buy a pack, not a whole box or even blaster.
