Yeah, you have to sign up for an account to see anything which is a bit frustrating.
Essentially you open an account/box there and can get cards sent there from anywhere in the US. Each order you get sent there has a fee — $2 for single cards and $5 for larger lots. There are also fees for larger shipments if you were to say send a case there I think it can be up to $20 fee. That is all for shipping to the main Arizona facility. There is also an option to ship through Oregon for Ebay purchases that attract tax. There are additional fees for going through Oregon so the breakeven point is about $35/$40.
They then collate it all and ship back for you. I have not reached this stage as still accumulating cards from Beckett, Ebay, some private purchases and then will send my Sportlots box there.
It is going to be a hefty bill all told between handling fees and shipping but a couple of reasons I have gone this way.
1) They will quote you on various shipping options (Fedex, UPS and USPS I believe). As mentioned earlier I was not very happy that Sportlots used a fairly low end USPS shipping option that was going to take months, then got lost for more months, was not insured for the full value of the cards in it and I was told I could not open a claim for at least 180 days after it was shipped. I have not requested a quote from ShipmyCards yet, but, others I have talked to reckon the prices are reasonable and you can get the cards withink 7 days to Australia (if you are in that much of a rush!) with Fedex.
2) They have a separate insurance option so you can claim a low value for the cards on the shipping docs and avoid GST etc when they come in to NZ/Australia but still insure them for their full value (or any amount you want). After making a purchase through Ebay then having the freight more than double for "import taxes" after my offer was accepted — even though the card value did not exceed the amount required to pay GST on imports for NZ — I now appreciate this even more. So far the ShipmyCards fees I have paid on 7 shipments totalling nearly 70 cards are still less than the additional unquoted freight payment I had to pay on that one card through Ebay's global shipping crap.
