I see mostly junk wax era. Hard to estimate the number of cards from the last picture. But I'd say no more than $100.

Someday my cards may double in value and then be worth half of what I paid for them.

"I've gone through the loose cards and picked out the best for the pictures, so do not expect to find any "diamonds in the rough" that aren't pictured."
When much of the best are '87 - '89 cards from what I can see, with a taunt that you'll find nothing of much worth otherwise, you'd basically be buying stock for set building. I'm not much of a price gauger, but C2Cigars looks right in his assessment.

I see fewer than 20 cards from the '87 - '89 range. And those include at least 2 HOF RCs. Most of the basketball is 1993 or newer. I still wouldn't pay $200, but it's not a terrible lot. And I didn't notice any Shaq RCs, but they get blurry when I zoom in. Those two Classic Draft of him are the year after his RC year.
-------------------------------
I'm going to reevaluate how I collect after the new year. It's just getting way too expensive for the new stuff. Sometimes I just want to buy a pack, not a whole box or even blaster.

Yes, but these are much of the 'best' cards that the seller is trying to sell. That means that anything else not pictured is not going to better than those 20 or so cards from the junk wax era, which is a little worrisome. Also, HOF RC's from that era aren't going to fetch a whole lot, so it's not really much of a lure unless one doesn't have them already. If the seller was posting those pictures as just a sample of what was in the lot then sure, the cost might showcase some interesting mystery. But what you see is what you will likely get, so if that interests the OP enough for $200 (remember, no apparent diamonds in the rough) as a collection incentive and not necessarily for a deal on book value, then so be it.

I agree. I also said I wouldn't pay that price. In fact, if the basketball were 1987 I would have said to jump on it. Basketball's junk era started later than baseball. I just went with the assumption that he may not know years by sight, so I was offering some help. This is the 2nd time lately a person was offered "Shaq RCs" that were 2nd year cards.

Thank you for the help everyone! Switzr1 i am not familiar with basketball and was not aware those were not rookie cards, so thank you for pointing that out. I decided to pass and continue my search for a large lot of cards. Adding 10,000 junk wax cards to my collection would not make the fiance happy and he said he pulled out all of the good cards already, so that wouldn't leave to much excitement going through the boxes looking for that diamond in the rough.

I, agree with all that's been said. I didn't like the tub aspect of the display. $75.00-$100.00 tops. If your close, he'll take $50.00 CASH
