Year: 1980

Set: TCMA All Time Detroit Tigers - Red (Rate)

Card: #12 John Hiller

“ Very nice late 1970s early 1980s team set. I don't have this one but I have the All Time Cubs, Dodgers and Pirates sets from this era. My Dodgers and Cubs sets are like this one one the white thinner card stock, but my Pirates set is more regular 1970s era thickness and gray/raw card stock. ” -captkirk42

“ Great guy that does a lot of signings at card shows around Detroit. Card would look good signed. ” -pjdionne12

“ Wow what a sharp card for a 1980 card. I really like how easy on the eyes this card is as well. ” -cardcollector65jw

“ That's certainly a simple design. Sometimes, that's all I'm looking for. Would like complete stats on back, but they have some interesting career facts there in the paragraph instead. ” -chvlDm

“ This is the kind-of a card a kid would love for his favorite team . . . Probably up to age nine or ten . . . Basic photo on the front, basic info on the back . . . Everything a fan of that age would want . . . ” -georgecf

He had a heart attack in 1972, and came back to have the best year as reliever ever in 1973!  10-5, ERA 1.44, 38 saves.

He and Willie Horton "Hit that ball WIllie!" were last of the 1968 Tigers to play in the majors.

A simple design which was in keeping for the time but has also aged well.
