I can't help but notice that the logo looks an awful lot like the Florida Panthers logo...maybe the sane person/group owns both?

By the way Billy, the reason for the gaps in his stats was that Upper Deck chose to list only his MLS stats.  The years missing on the back of the card he played in Mexico.

I looked up his stats suspecting the gaps were foreign leagues, and they were, however, interesting was that his Wikipedia page shows him as having played 29 games with the Galaxy in 98-99 and 4 with the Mutiny in 99-00.  When I add that up, it doesn’t equal the totals on the card.  I have to be doing something wrong.

This is another example where soccer, and soccer cards, can't be viewed in the same way as other sports.  Unlike other sports we collect, the top league in US/Canada is not considered the best league in the world (not even close).  Also, guys move around between countries all the time, and teams change leagues.  Stats for a player's career generally cover any senior league in any country they played in.  But card sets probably only include stats for the leagues they have a license with.  At least that was the case with this UD set.  Imagine counting Ichiro's Japanese stats, Aaron's Negro League Stats, Rose's minor league stats, Walker's USFL stats, etc.

Interesting. I know so little about this sport that my cluelessness should surprise no one.

There is a hockey site that includes all top level leagues in stat totals, not just NHL or KHL or whatever.

Actually, I believe Topps always included the USFL stats.  I remember this as Jim Kelly is my favorite NFL player and I vividly remember his Houston Gamblers stats being on all his Topps cards.  I think I remember Moon's CFL stats with Edmonton on the back of his cards as well.

I really think soccer gets a bad wrap, probably because there is a bit of North American pride and we don't have the best league.  Part of the beauty of soccer though is that the various leagues exist and the Champions Cup tournament is so much fun.  To me, it resembles college sports where the best leagues are like the conferences, the lower leagues are like FCS, DII and DIII and the Champions Cup is like the CFB Playoff.  If you watch it that way, it makes more sense.
