Remember the Home shopping Network? Still exists as far as I can tell. The 90's was their hay day, and hawking Christmas fair, fur hoodies, computers, and Emeril's cooking utensils were not the only items they offered on Ezy Pay...card companies were looking for all kinds of venues to move cards, and the race between Sosa and McGwire slugging homers was no exception to the baseball card market craze. The thirty-one card set features color action photos of memorable moments in the 1998 season for Mark McGwire in his chase for 62 home runs. One oversized 3 1/2" by 5" commemorative card was included showing Big Mac's historical 61st and 62nd home runs. The set was distributed by the Home Shopping Network in a red box. The hobby box is yellow. The oversize card is slightly different in each version (Home Shopping, Hobby and Retail) issued. Boy, were the 90's fun for collecting or what? The set also came out via Retail outlets in boxes, I think they had actual pack in those boxes.
