Trivia

  • Matte Finish card Backs (non-gloss) have been found in both print runs of the 1st series. A possible production error
  • The only series Without A Puzzle.

  • The Only Series that has the GPK header With the "TM" (trademark) Symbol. Not including the Giant 1st Series Kids which has the ® "registered" trade mark symbol.

  • The first of two series that have cards with a Pink GPK Header. Cards 12a "Furry FRAN" and 12b "Hairy MARY" (Visit the 4th series "Fun Facts and TidBits" section to view the second pink GPK header).
  • The only series with a GPK Header Surrounded By the color Yellow rather than white. Cards 18a "Cranky FRANKIE" and 18b "Bad BRAD". Several non-card GPK boxes can be found with this phenomenon.
  • The only series Box (wrapper or card front) that has a Blue GPK Header Surrounded By the color Yellow
  • The series has Light Pink, dark blue, dark pink, yellow, and red Name Bars ... no light blue in this series
  • Glossy backs are more valuable than Matte backs for OS1.
  • The checklists are the only sticker backs that don't have asterisk variations. All checklists have two ** on the copyright line.

There are actually 2 sets here. The Glossy Back set is definitely more valuable than the Matte Back set. This is opposite of the Original Series 2 set. I don't know exactly how this works but I think they started with glossy backs first and then went to matte backs to save money. When series 2 came out, they probably continued doing matte backs until the popularity of these cards allowed them to return to glossy backs. At least that's how I think it went. What we know for sure is that Glossy backs are rare in OS1, but Matte backs are rare in OS2.
