Produced by Upper Deck for McDonald's of Canada, this set was similar in concept to the previous year's Upper Deck McDonald's set. The 27 regular cards and six hologram-type cards honored 33 of the NHL's most exciting players. The holograms were random inserts in the four-card packs. An oversized (4" by 5 1/2") Patrick Roy card (23) was also available via a redemption card randomly inserted in packs. The redemption card could be redeemed at McDonald's or through the mail. A number of redemption cards for other prizes, such as trips to games, autographed pucks and sticks, etc, also were included. These cards obviously were extremely difficult to locate, but also experience limited demand from collectors at this point. Most would be valued in the $10-$20 range. Also, Upper Deck had confirmed that the unnumbered checklist card was short-printed. All cards measured the standard size. The regular cards featured on their fronts white-bordered color action shots of players in their 1993 All-Star uniforms. The hologram cards were horizontal on their fronts and backs. The front of each card featured a hologram-type action photo of a first team All-Star on the right and a posed close-up on the left. The player's name and position appeared within blue, black, and gray stripes near the bottom. The back carried the player's All-Star highlights in both English and French. Variations of the cards with incorrect backs were known to exist. The regular cards were arranged according to conference: Campbell (1-13) and Wales (14-27). The regular cards were numbered on the back with an "McD" prefix; the hologram-types are numbered with an "McH" prefix.
