Short Prints

Most of the game-worn jersey cards have print runs of 1000+. If you go by the numbers, the most common of the commons is Valeri Bure of the Florida Panthers, with a print run of 1352. A few, though, have runs substantially lower than that so here is a list of those SPs and their print run:

Mike LeClerc- Anaheim Ducks 376
Joe Thornton- Boston Bruins- 160
Jeff O'Neill- Carolina Hurricanes- 283
Sergei Berezin- Chicago Blackhawks- 304
Patrick Roy- Colorado Avalanche- 150
Dominik Hasek- Detroit Redwings- 253
Jose Theodore- Montreal Canadiens- 316
Mario Lemieux- Pittsburgh Penguins- 288
Owen Nolan- San Jose Sharks- 439
Jaromir Jagr- Washington Capitals- 171

Patches:

I do not have all that many of them- about a dozen- but the print run seems to be roughly 250 for a "common". The most scarce one that I have (so far) is Eric Lindros, #'d of 95.

Note: each card is serial-numbered by Pacific

I really loved this product when it came out, but the price (I think it was around $12/pack and $90 a box) put me off to the point where I bought only a few packs here and there. I did manage to pull a Patrick Roy jersey card (#'d of 150) out of one of those few packs.
A few years later (maybe 2008), I noticed that the box price had really dropped to the point that boxes of eight hobby packs were below $50, so I made the rather insane decision to try to put together a complete set of the jersey cards. With the help of the internet (thank you eBay!), I bought the last jersey card I needed (Martin Havlat, of all players) in early 2010.

Roy is the key, as his is the shortest of short prints at 150. If you can find that one for a good price, you've got a great start on the whole set. I bought many of the commons for the set for as little as $1 (plus shipping) from eBay and I think the most I spent was perhaps $15 (Mario Lemieux, also an SP).

Not resting content, I'm now working on a 2001-02 Private Stock Reserve jersey/stick/patch set. One day......
