According to an advertisement in the 01/31/1977 Sports Collectors News, the set was issued "in limited edition on regular 12 point coated stock or in proof sets limited to 500". not sure if there is a difference in the thickness of the cards or what constituted a "proof set". cards were being sold by "The Sport Hobbyist" magazine, $4.00 for regular set and $6.00 for the proof sets.
