Here is an example of where the team assignment rules break down. The earlier variation clearly shows Newcombe in a Dodgers uniform. This later variation is the same photo, but with the B on the cap and the Dodgers script on the jersey both airbrushed out. If it is the same photo, he technically is still in his Dodgers uniform, but they would not bother with the airbrushing unless he changed teams. (They may have airbrushed the B when they moved to Los Angeles, but there would be no need to airbrush out the Dodgers script.) I am a Cincinnati Reds collector, and I am including this later variation in my collection.
