NFL Players Donning the Fighting Irish Uniform by MoPack626 (Last updated on Jan 20, 2021)

This list is to help a fellow TCDB member (David657) create a more robust wantlist for his Notre Dame collection. We're looking for any NFL players who are wearing Notre Dame uniforms. Since some ND alum are pictured with their college uniforms but only connected to their respective NFL team, this has been a list created mostly by scrolling the images, a "visual" checklist if you will. (If you do know of a better way of identifying these cards, then please let us know.) Included in this list are mostly base set and insert cards; s/n are mostly excluded as well as autos and parallels. If you have any spare time, review the list and if you notice a NFL player donning a Fighting Irish uniform that is not listed here, then comment below and help us find more. Thank you!

1969 Topps Cards from the MLBPA Boycott of 1968 by Dave Sosidka (Last updated on Jan 20, 2021)

As the Major League Baseball Players Association (MLBPA) was forming and strengthening, the players realized that Topps, with a monopoly on producing baseball cards, was paying them peanuts for their likenesses. As a move to put some pressure on the Brooklyn-based bubble gum giant, the players decided to not pose for Topps photographers in 1968. The result was that the 1969 set contains many older photos- taken two, three, and sometimes, more years earlier. To read more, check out
Thanks to Jack Webster for his detective work in helping me track some of these down.

Boom Era Hockey "Rare and/or Valuable" by reakins (Last updated on Jan 19, 2021)

Hockey cards produced by major companies during the "Boom" years when "almost" everything was over produced, yet today, are highly sought after (i.e., valuable) or almost never appear on the secondary market. This list may include variants (ERR/COR), but only those confirmed to exist.

Sets that have been corrected for 1a -> 1 [sub a] card numbers.

Sets with 'a' part numbers by OCHawkeye (Last updated on Jan 13, 2021)

Sets that require clean up of card sub-numbers.

ie. Set has cards 1a and VAR 1b. Card numbers should actually be 1 [sub a] and 1 [sub b]

NPB/KBO-MLB Posts by DarkSide830 (Last updated on Jan 13, 2021)

Interests in tapping Asian baseball circuits for their talent dates all the way back to Connie Mack trying to sign the biggest legend of the JBL, Eiji Sawamura, back in the 1930s, but the JBL (which would eventually evolve into the NPB) and eventually the KBO held fast to their star players for some time. After stars such as Hideo Nomo and Alfonso Soriano used loopholes to move to the MLB the leagues eventually agreed on a formal system for the movement of players from the Asian circuits to the MLB known as the posting system. Here is a list of the players to participate in the posting system.

Sets (or collections) that need scans by vrooomed (Last updated on Jan 11, 2021)

Set up to help me figure out what to scan next, but figured I would open it up so others could see it. Maybe, just maybe, someone would want to help me on one, and it can go a little quicker. If you do want to help, just scan your cards!

Officers of the Oblong Onion Bags: Leafs Goalies by thirstydeer (Last updated on Jan 11, 2021)

Continuing with my focus on my favourite and local team, the Toronto Maple Leafs, I thought I'd take the time to put together a list of Leafs goalies.

When I got into hockey it was right at the time Felix Potvin pushed Grant Fuhr out of the starting role. After Potvin it was Curtis Joseph leading the way. After Cujo it was Ed Belfour. And after Belfour it was a revolving door of misses until Frederik Andersen provided some stability.

Only cards I have of goalies while playing for the Leafs are shown, and it is in order from goalies who played for the team during the 1981-92 season and moving forward to today.

Engage: Star Trek Ships by thirstydeer (Last updated on Jan 11, 2021)

As much as I love hockey I am also a Star Trek fan, and particularly like the ship designs and the intracincies of each ship type.

This list includes every card I have that focuses on Star Trek ships - even if multiple cards are about the same one.

Cards are ordered by year their respective sets were issued, then by card number.

Anyone care to guess which one is my favourite? First person to guess which ship is my favourite will get any five Star Trek common cards on my for sale/trade list. To guess right you have to post a comment on this list.

It's a Deal: TCDB Trades - 2020 Edition by thirstydeer (Last updated on Jan 6, 2021)

I was looking at user lists for inspiration and came across Billy Kingsley's list of trade summaries he did in 2020 and thought it was a really great idea. So... I couldn't resist.

I joined the site on April 4, 2020 as a means to help me sort out all my cards I pulled from my mom's loft. They were there since 1993. Sorting through them reignited my interest in card collecting so I began trading.

Each card shown is the one that stands out for me the most in that particular transaction for whichever reason (last card needed for a set, a player I like, etc). That being said the vast majority of cards involved in these trades are commons.

Between my first transaction ever on May 28 till my last transaction conducted in 2020 I traded away 658 cards and received 683 cards. This adds up to a total of 1341 cards changing hands. Separately, I also bought cards on four occasions, totaling 245 cards, but I'm not including that in the above total.

Thanks to all my trading partners in 2020, especially those who traded with me when I was new to the site.

They Brought It: Hall of Famer Rookie Cards by thirstydeer (Last updated on Jan 6, 2021)

There has been plenty of athletic talent on display in the MLB and NHL, but only a select few will ever get serious consideration for their sport's ultimate individual recognition.

Every player in this last has been inducted into the Hall of Fame. All these players have had careers the vast majority of other pros can only dream of, and are idolized by many.

Each card shown is in my collection. This list is about the player, not about the value of the card the player is on. It is sorted based on the age of the card and thus the beginning of each player's career.

1992-93 Ottawa Senators by fedoratipper (Last updated on Jan 4, 2021)

The Senators returned to the NHL after being dormant since 1934. They won their first game back against Montreal (Who would later go onto win the Stanley Cup) but it was all downhill from there as they finished 10-70-4 including going 1-41 on the road.

San Jose Sharks Top players by numbers by SharksAttack (Last updated on Jan 2, 2021)

This is just my opinion. I tried to take count time with that number on team. These are not absolute best players to wear those numbers. Otherwise Teemu Selänne would be #8 instead of Joe Pavelski etc. Same player can't be on list twice.
