Curse You, Michael Jordan! by bevans (Last updated on Jan 18, 2020)

Sets in my collection which are exactly one card away from completion. That darn Jordan fellow shows up a disproportionate number of times, usually with the result that the one card I'm missing is worth more than the rest of the set combined.

Boom Era Hockey "Rare and/or Valuable" by reakins (Last updated on Jan 15, 2020)

Hockey cards produced by major companies during the "Boom" years when "almost" everything was over produced, yet today, are highly sought after (i.e., valuable) or almost never appear on the secondary market. This list may include variants (ERR/COR), but only those confirmed to exist.

Hornet NFLers by Splinter_9 (Last updated on Jan 14, 2020)

There have been at least 22 players from Sac State play in the NFL. Apparently only 8 have cards.
Ken O'Brien was a backup at CSUS for a year before transferring to UC Davis, where he had his success.

Baseball Hall of Good by EbeSPN (Last updated on Jan 8, 2020)

The last playing card ranked by high water percent mark. I left off anyone who is still ballot eligible like Larry Walker. Updated after Ted Simmons was elected by the Veterans Committee. I included if that player has been considered by an Era Committee, in 2020 the Early Baseball and Golden Days committees will meet.
Early Baseball (1871–1949)
Golden Days (1950–1969)
Modern Baseball (1970–1987)
Today's Game (1988 and later)
It's amazing how many guys didn't even make 5%.

Members I've Met by C2Cigars (Last updated on Jan 4, 2020)

Members I have met in-person. In 2018 I met four members. In 2019 I broke that record and meet five. My 2020 goal is to set a new record and meet six or more members.

Any members interested in meeting, send me a message. I frequent the following locales and routes/states between. I'm not adverse to driving extra miles out of the way.

Northern Virginia / Washington DC area
Upstate New York
Detroit area
planned roadtrip to Colorado

Final 4 Phillies Topps Needs by tcc25 (Last updated on Jan 4, 2020)

I've been working on Phillies team sets from Topps flagship/Update series' on and off since 2011. Of the 2000+ cards, the only 4 I'm missing are the 1952 high numbers.

Last addition: 963 Topps #553 Brock Davis / Jim Gosger / John Herrnstein / Willie Stargell

Fun and Cool Cards I Have on Display by Vvvergeer (Last updated on Jan 1, 2020)

1/1/20

Well, Chuck sent me a 1950 Bowman, so the autographed 1970 Pete Rose has gone back to the binder. Welcome, Hank Edwards.

Anyway, here's a list of the cards that are out of the binders, in cases, and on display on a shelf in our office (I also have my three display cases of Last Topps Card of Hall of Famers, The Merkle's Boner Collection, and the T207 Cubs Team Set (partial) -- I don't include those here.

This display used to be only Hall of Famers (and autographed 1970 Pete Rose) until some time in 2016, when I opened it up to cards and players I just liked and I expanded more fully into non-Topps. Now I label each card carefully, explaining why its on display and/or some history of the player. Making it more personal to me and finding players with interesting histories really made it fun for me. I love these cards. Hope you enjoy it.

Serially Numbered Cards added in 2019 by Billy Kingsley (Last updated on Dec 31, 2019)

Patches! by Billy Kingsley (Last updated on Dec 16, 2019)

I have stated many times I liked the hobby better when it was all base set collecting, no "hits". Yet, I would probably be sad if they went away. (Hypocritical, I know).

There is something special about pulling a patch card. When they started doing relics in 1996 they didn't do patches, and when they started introducing patch cards, they didn't make a big deal about it...if you got one, that was great, but it was just considered a jersey card. That didn't last long, and they soon became the de facto parallel for relics.

For the NBA, patches come from the player's name, the team logo, the number, or the tag. (But NOT the borders around the arm or neck holes) For NASCAR it comes from the sponsor patches or the driver's name. I've got quite a few patches, so I thought I would share them in a List.

Major NHL cards featuring an NHL player without a major card by wax_house (Last updated on Dec 13, 2019)

Error cards featuring the wrong player will be the most obvious, but I'm also looking in the background. Major releases only. Going to exclude team cards that feature the whole team e.g. 1979-80 Topps/OPC hockey team cards for example. I'll need help for the other sports.
