My collecting goal is 1 card per unique player/team combination. This list documents new additions to that collection.

The dates listed on the entries reflect the date I added the card to my TCDB collection, not the date I acquired it.

To make the list manageable, split into chunks of 300 cards.

2023-04 update - had my best month of getting cards catalogued in over a year, so some movement. 99% of the month was dedicated to hockey and baseball. Current stats - 11,265 unique combos among 793 teams.

The more I collect, the more interested I've become in getting a bit more free-form. Collecting all the Topps sets is nice, but other quirky "sets" are more fun.
Especially when I'm buying vintage cards, where I'm likely to only buy one card from the set, I need some reason to buy one card over another. I go for Cubs, but I don't know any of the non-stars from each other. So how to decide? I do a little research and find the cards of guys with quirky trivia attached to them.
Here are the cards I bought almost exclusively because there is odd trivia connected to the player. There's plenty of great trivia connected to other card I have, but I bought many of those cards for other reasons.
As always, feel free to suggest others. I'll probably want to buy them.

Donruss Rated Rookies that I need to complete the run of 1984-1993.

The first Can I Keep My Jersey in two years. Derick Brassard (Who I saw play in the minor leagues in Syracuse) has played for the most teams of any active player in the NHL with 10.
Note: He does not have a card with the Panthers.

Only cards with dogs and an athlete, no cards of dogs by themselves. I am not going to track the Ajax Dog Food or Milkbone Dog Food sets.

Which cards had the impossible task for attention following the most iconic baseball cards in history? Let's take a look!

I’m guessing these had to have been an SGA in commemoration of the closing of the original Busch Stadium/Sportsman’s Park in St. Louis

As far as I can tell, according to this site anyway, these probably are the first “retired” sets that concentrated on specific franchises.

Of course there had been sets released previously featured random, or not so much random (HOF sets, Connie Mack’s All-Time All-Stars) assortment of past stars, as well as sets dedicated to one player (Babe Ruth, Ted Williams (though Williams was active at the time).

But nothing before dedicated to the past of a franchise as a whole, or a specific season or era in team history.

These are simply cards that are very cool to own, and won't completely blow the household budget to obtain. Some, based on how they look, some based on who they are. All, simply personal preference. Additionally, one of my "projects" is to get at least one card of the baseball HOFers from during their playing days - provided they appear in a Bowman or Topps set (T-206 and Goudey HOFers would not fit in that "affordable" price range).

As much as I enjoy collecting Tony Gwynn, there are just some of his cards that should never have been made. This list are my least favorite orite Gwynn cards for each year.

This list identifies former Major League Baseball players who played in at least ten MLB seasons and spent their entire playing careers exclusively with the New York Yankees. The list does not include active players.

Some listed players went on to coach or manage with other teams, or may have had minor league appearances with other franchises. Their only MLB experience as a player was with the New York Yankees.

As a Tony Gwynn super collector I have seen thousand of his cards. Some of them are really nice, some look legendary, and then some of them are less then flattering. This list deals with what I consider my personal favorite cards by year.

Lasse Oksanen Trophy is awarded to the MVP (Most Valuable Player) of the Finnish Liiga.

This is dedicated to league leader cards with 3+ players who are all in the Hall of Fame.
