Stadiums/Arenas I've visited, bands/groups/performers I've seen live, people I've met, places I've visited, sights I've seen, etc.

It's pretty cool how we can chronicle our lives with cards. Compiling this list I've been amazed at some of the cards I've come across. I'm inspired to get these cards and place them in a binder entitled "My Life in Cards".

List is inspired by some other members' lists; such as switzr1's I Visited Their Grave, Gunny's Places I Have Been, rmpaq5's Stadiums I've Been To and Famous Landmarks I've Been To, Billy Kingsley's People I Have Met and others I can't recall. When I come across their lists again I'll give them their due.

NOT wrong player photos, but wrong photos for the card's subject. For instance, an Apollo 11 card with a picture from the Apollo 15 mission. Is it a one-off or are there more out there?

Also, DOES NOT INCLUDE those vintage World Series, Super Bowl, Championship specific play cards. It's understood card companies had to use a representative photo for specific plays.

For now, no Non-sports (including kayfabe). The only exceptions are TCDB cards.

Buybacks are a great idea. But their execution is an ABOMINATION.
Who wouldn't love to find an original, unaltered vintage card inserted in their packs? Instead their beauty is marred; literally "defaced".
For now, only the most egregious "defacings". At the end of the list are a few interesting ones.

Collections that only need a few cards to complete.

Manager's (Coaches) cards depicting them in the act of hollering.

I have 8 of these cards on my Wantlist.

Funny names and names that are ill-suited to a player's profession. Some you may have to take liberties with pronunciation.

Players committing penalties.

The final NFL Draft pick is called "Mr. Irrelevant"

Paul Salata founded "Mr. Irrelevant" and "Irrelevant Week" in 1976. During the summer after the draft, the new Mr. Irrelevant and his family are invited to spend a week in Newport Beach, California, where they enjoy a golf tournament, a regatta, a roast giving advice to the new draftee, and a ceremony awarding him the Lowsman Trophy. The trophy mimics the Heisman, but depicts a player fumbling a football.

Cards where the subject player is hard to see or discern

The last card needed to finish various sets/collections.

My two favorite collecting events:
1) when a collection/set gets down to "just one more card". It just makes me want that last card soooooo bad.
2) when a collection/set is completed

Some of my favorite nicknames

They're Hollerin' but they're not Managers/Coaches

NFL players who never attended college or played college football.

Unibrows and bushy brows. Only the best example card for each "bush" league player.

Members I have met in-person. In 2018 I met four members. In 2019 I broke that record and meet five. My 2020 goal is to set a new record and meet six or more members.

Any members interested in meeting, send me a message. I frequent the following locales and routes/states between. I'm not adverse to driving extra miles out of the way.

A player with a "cup of coffee" is one who has played in only one game in the majors. These players got their Cup of Coffee and a MLB baseball card during their career.

Players that overcame or sucumb to illness, disease, medical/physical conditions.

A countdown of some of the shortest-lived teams or team names. MLB, NBA/ABA, NFL/AFL, NHL/WHA

They won the Heisman, but they never lived up to expectations.

Retired hockey players who appeared in only one NHL game and had an NHL card issued during their career.

Not uncommon nowadays, since every "rookie" player seems to get at least a few hundred cards. I always get a chuckle when these cards don them as some type of great prospect.
