This is the first year I truly started caring, and buying cards as a kid. 25 cents a pack at the drug store in the small town nearby, so I'd get like 10 packs at a time with my dad. Gum in the packs of course and it would mark up the last card a bit. I had many of these cards. I had 10 Adam Oates rookies, and a couple years later when cards hit it big, I sold most of them for $35 each!

This was what started me off into the world of card collecting. I remember my first pack having Grant Fuhr in the pack. I miss the days when my now late stepfather would help me sort cards on the weekends, sometimes until late at night.

First pack of cards I ever opened. I remember my Dad buying me some at $0.25 a pack I think. Love this set to this day. I remember my older cousin Leanne (huge hockey fan and a helluva player) coming over to babysit and helping me organize the cards I had into team sets. | ||
My first ever pack of cards! Just a kid, so the cards didn't survive. As an adult, I got revenge on my younger self and was able to get a complete set. Classic set with great design. |
