Kudos to Upper Deck on this years release. Great photography reminiscent of Stadium Club and the quality control seems to be much better after years of lackluster offerings. Some of the inserts are definitely geared toward younger generation collectors. It's a shame they didn't bring Electromagnetics back (really enjoyed that set) for this year but overall that's a pretty small complaint in an otherwise product.

I haven't purchased any of these yet, but after looking through some of the images of the cards, I think they are very classy. I like that the fronts are very simple and not covered in a bunch of flashy graphics. I also like the fact that the pictures highlight each teams jerseys (close up photos). For example, the Anthony Stolarz card. Very nice. Overall, I think this will be a nice set. The only thing that I find odd is the variations with players in suits. But, it is hockey, so I guess it makes sense (somehow).

UPDATE 1: Got the whole set, including variations and Young Guns. Fantastic set. Can't wait for Series 2.

UPDATE 2: Very disappointed with the many players who are not sorted correctly with their teams. The set was released late, so I would expect it to be done correctly. Cards still look great. I like the alternate cards of guys in the penalty box. I think this is a much better idea than them being in street clothes.
