This set is listed in many other outlets as 1972 - in an effort to help alleviate confusion, it's probably best for TCDB to remain listing it as 1972, however, in looking at the cards, unless TCMA was clairvoyant, there is no way these were issued in 1972. Left Grove's death on 5-22-1975 is referenced on his card and George Dickey's card references his death on 6-16-1976, both of which are factually correct. That means this set was issued no earlier than 1976 and it was possibly issued in 1977. There is the possibility that this was a set initially issued in 1972 and then reprinted by TCMA (they tended to do this) and they updated the cards in reprints, but I have not been able to locate images of any cards other than the ones with the post-1972 death dates on them.
