2016 Topps

2016 was the start of the end for Topps baseball cards to me. Incomplete statistics on the card backs demonstrates that Topps no longer respects baseball. That doesn't mean I go to another brand for baseball, because Topps was it, so it's back to bubblegum cards for me. I've already sold off everything from 2012-present so I'm working on getting rid of everything from 2011 back to somewhere between 1991-2001. I don't think I'll ever come back to modern Topps baseball cards again.
Vvvergeer couldn't agree more ! they being Topps screwed this set up with ONLY 50 cards for a 100 years history set ! Like how did they not make a when Wrigley Finally got Lights card ? As a cute 1 of 1 idea a Piece of Glass or Steel from the Lights just saying !
Great photographs, but unfortunately the high-pass, over sharp photo filtering is distracting to the point of the cards being difficult to look at. Neat graphics otherwise though.
Well, I've looked through my 50 card 100 Years at Wrigley set. Disappointing. First and foremost, look through the checklist. Do you see Ernie Banks on there? No. How do you not give Mr. Cub a card? Lots of repeats and too much focus on the present. How about a Harry Carey and Jack Brickhouse card instead of Ronald Reagan? Leo Durocher? Hack Wilson? Hank Sauer? I can't begin to name players who deserved a card more than Jorge Soler. And I love Sutter and Sandberg and Dawson, and Schwarber, but they don't deserve two cards each. 100 years of history and this is what they come up with? Disappointing.

My factory set came in the mail two days ago on Wednesday, July 13th. I'm now a proud owner of the 65th Topps baseball card set.
I pick up 2 packs to see if i like the Topps 2016 flag Ship set. I do like the no boarder look full open picture card looks great I just may build this one. |
