1959 Fleer Ted Williams
Trivia |
- This is Fleer's first released sports card set since 1923.
- Fleer signed Ted Williams away from Topps to make this set.
- Fleer had to halt production on card #68 featuring Red Sox GM Bucky Harris because he was under contract with Topps.
- This set is often regarded as Fleer's first sports card set. However, this is not correct. Fleer had a 1923 baseball offering as well.
- Counterfeit examples of card #68 have been produced and can be distinguished by a cross-hatch pattern and pinkish hue on front.
