1976 Kraš Životinjsko Carstvo
Trivia |
- Originally released in 1956, the album Životinjsko Carstvo (which means "Animal Kingdom" in Croatian) contained 250 images of animals. First few decades they had to be manually glued to album, and in 1990s they became stickers. Every decade or so the images themselves were renewed. Originally, they used artwork (1 or 2 versions until 1970s) when they replaced many of images with live footage (that is this set in the database) though some of them used artwork instead (i.e. for pre-historic animals like dinosaurs or some more peculiar animals).
Kraš is over a century old company that produces sweets, mainly various types of chocolate. In early 1930s/40s they had very thin chocolate, which then in 1950s became even more flat and started including animal cards (each was included on the back of chocolate wrapper and had to be torn off).
The biggest reason to complete the full set in the album was that people could mail the full album to Kraš company and get a huge box package in return filled with all kinds of chocolate and sweets. Even though images changed art over decades, it didn't matter if they are mixed in the album because they all still retained the same numbers and ordering.
