- Despite the fact Topps had using airbrushing for 25 years before this set was released, Donruss made no alterations to the uniforms of players who had been drafted or signed by the new expansion teams- the Colorado Rockies and the Florida Marlins.
- Distribution
Wax: 36 packs per box, 15 cards per pack (MSRP: $1).
Jumbo: 24 packs per box, 23 cards per pack.
Magazine: 24 packs per box, 26 cards per pack.
Retail Blaster: 18 packs per box - Despite being included in the 22-card preview set, George Brett does not appear in the regular set.
- The original paintings used for the Diamond Kings insert set were offered as prizes to collectors 16 and younger that submitted essays explaining which Diamond King player was their favorite and why. Winners received the framed paintings at the National Sports Collectors Convention in Chicago in July 1993.
