Stopped building sets in 09 and now have stopped chasing SFGiants/49ers in 2019. But still have lots of wants. Due to a generous divorce court had to return to work, so trading is still important to me but now pulling and mailing can only be done on fridays and saturdays.

I'm in remission with esophageal cancer, learning how to use my 'new plumbing' after an esophagectomy, several discectomies and spinal fusion surgery, new scars on my face from trying to make it look better by passing out and falling face first on a hardwood floor (didn't work, but cool scars!) and, worst of all, adjusting to life on my own since my collecting partner, best friend, and wife died (of course from f$#*&^g cancer)! So, this is really all I have left....LET'S TRADE!!!

If I have something on my ForSale/Trade list that you need and you have nothing to trade me, I am more than willing to sell most cards on my FS/T list at a very, very reasonable price...especially to fellow set collectors!

VAR's: Hate them, but I get it...some people want every card in a set including different variations. I do the best I can in identifying all the different variations and listing them correctly. However, if it's important to you to get a specific variation in a trade, please let me know that so I can be sure I have the correct one for you.

I've been very blessed in my trades and transactions here on TCDB. Thank you to all. I will trade vintage for modern and vice versa as long as there is roughly equal value felt on both sides. I am a set builder and collecter. I do not speculate on my cards for future value. I do this for fun, not for profit. I will sell, but only to build a small bank of money to use for buying cards I can't trade for. I've traded hundreds of cards each way and I've done many 1 for 1 trades, so no trade is too big or small for me.

In packaging, I use painter's tape ONLY. I try to use a photo mailer for small trades of about a dozen or less.  I use #10 PWE for trades up to about 2 dozen cards and maybe 2 PWE for 4 dozen.  After 50 cards, I typically will use a bubble mailer with tracking.  If it is 200 or more cards, they will likely be in a box well padded.

I’ve been collecting cards for over 46 years and have over 443,000 unique cards in my main collection, including some nice vintage stuff.  I collect older cards of the four major sports but lately I've been expanding to some more recent sets.  I'm primarily a Set Builder and I’m looking for other like-minded set builders to trade with.   I’ve accumulated tons of extra cards that I would like to trade away with almost 250,000 cards in my current For Trade list.  Big trades don't bother me. I have a huge Want List, so hopefully you have something I need.  Feel free to make me an offer. 

For Canadian Traders: It's expensive for me to trade across the border.  Going forward I would like to limit cross border trades to two (2) PWEs. That's about 54 standard-size cards.  Thanks.

For Anyone Outside US/Canada: The increased postal rates have made it impossible for me to trade outside North America cheaply.  So going forward I will have to decline trades from outside US/Canada.  Sorry about that.

Update on Donruss/Leaf * Variations and Upper Deck Holo Variations:
I can't guaranty the junk wax era Donruss/Leaf cards and the UD holo variations are listed with the correct variation.  Going forward I will no longer check the variations on these cards.  If you want these cards regardless of the variations, feel free to request them in the trade.  Howver, If you want a specific variation of these cards, I'm no longer your guy - please don't put them in the trade request.  For all other cards that have variations, I will contniue to check and make sure you get the correct one.

Note on Vintage Cards:
I have over 6,000 vintage cards listed for trade (I consider vintage to be 1977 or earlier).  For each card I've noted a condition grade and if you check closer, a note on each regarding any condition issues (be sure to select the correct one if multiple cards are shown).  Please note that I'm by no means a professional grader and if you're hyper-sensitive on card condition, please message me first and I'd be happy talk about it.  In exchange for these cards I have three priorities:

• 1) similar vintage cards that I need (any sport)
• 2) inserts for my 90s sets that I need (any sport)
• 3) or non-junk era base cards that i need as a last resort (any sport)

Note on Card Condition: A card noted as Pr, Fr, Gd, or GdVg will have some obvious condition issues such as creasing, corner wear, or marks.  I would consider them place holders in a collection at best (I've listed them because some people do want place holders).  A VG card will usually be a clean card with some corner wear or a centering issue.  For me, VG would be the bare minimum for my personal collection.  EX will be nice sharp card and VgEx will be something just between VG and Ex, still a nice card with a small issue that prevents it from being EX.  NM in vintage is a tough find.

I collect everything Royals and Huskers (yes, even the "junk"). My trading goal/style is efficiency, so I'm looking to do 10-30 card trades for PWE (multiple PWEs is fine as well) and tracked packages for everything larger. If you have a good amount of cards I need, my preference is to trade for them all in one go instead of a few cards at a time. I work hard to condition note my cards if I don't find them close to Nrmt, so I ask that you do the same when we trade. Fair?

What you should expect in trading with me:

Accuracy: I will send exactly the cards you trade for, I strive for 100% every time, no missing cards, no wrong parallels, sorted in the same order TCDb organizes them so that you can quickly add them to your collection.
Detail: I will condition note cards that aren't close to Nrmt, no surprises!
Resolution: If I can't locate a requested card, I'll get you a suitable replacement right away.
Value: I deal in real-world value, not Beckett value, not TCDb value, etc, pricing is skewed for a zillion reasons with those sources. For the most part, we're not trading gold mines here, so just ballpark it and we'll go from there!

I try to keep my trade list stocked with a lot of inserts and parallels, so take a closer look if your wantlist is small! If you don't have cards I need in return, feel free to send me a purchase offer.

I will often propose quality for quantity trades, so if you are turned off by the card imbalance, we can adjust, everyone has different styles!

GENERAL BUY / SELL / TRADE INFORMATION:

While everything I have is for sale/trade, anything listed in my collection will be expensive.

With the exception of some complete sets, my collection is stored in sleeves > pages > binders and sorted by player > year > set > card number.  Transactions involving one player or a few players tend to be pulled quickly, but transactions with many different players take longer.  Not all cards with variations are logged properly, but I am happy to confirm that applicable cards in a proposed transaction are the correct variation.

• Feedback: If you have little or no feedback, I will request that I receive your cards before I ship mine.

• Communication: I prefer to work within proposed transactions as soon as possible, but feel welcome to message me first if you're thinking about a trade that will take a lot of time and thought to put together.  As long as you're willing to communicate (I am), I'm comfortable with as many counter proposals as it takes to come to an agreement and then confirm that cards both exist and are in good shape BEFORE the transaction is accepted by one of us.

Sorry for lack of responses over the last could of weeks.  Currently not taking any new proposals as I handle things after my mother's death.  I will try to finalize everything currently, but please be patient.

Please, don't offer cards in a trade that are less than NM condition unless they are pre-70s or you tell me prior.  No creases, heavy wear on edges or surface, corners mashed, stains, cigarette smoke smells, writing on checklists.  And ship your cards safely, please.  I've gotten too many packages already with obvious damage prior to shipping then some because of loose, unprotected shipping.  It's gotten very frustrating trying to organize the set builds when your trades are going in the trash.

I collect a lot of various sports and non-sports cards. 

I PC mostly Harmon Killebrew, Bob Feller, and Griffey Jr. in baseball, plus stars from the Mariners, White Sox, Anaheim Ducks (Teemu Selanne is a favorite), Denver Broncos, all Boise State Broncos former players, and the 239 MLB players (a long way from adding that list to wants) that came through my hometown minor league system before the majors (1926-202x).  Huge wrestling fan from the 80's to the mid 2000s.  Modern wrestling, not so much.  Anything oddball junk wax from the 80s-90s including holograms and food releases are fun to add.

If I have something in my PC that you need, I may be willing to consider a trade/sell, unless it's part of a set.

To complete a 1979 Topps NFL set since I got a nice chunk from the LCS.

My Topps 59' 60' 61' and 62's are all Ex or Ex+ and looking for good homes.

My OPC/Topps 70's vary widely.  I hesitate to grade, but I do  know the parameters.  Ask for condition and I will put eyeballs on the card and let you know.

My Topps 79' and 80' are weathered.  Some dings, soft edges. Pesentable. Handled by me as a child.  If its creased, it isnt listed here

Trade Notes: I don't pull cards before making a trade offer within the site but I do check all cards before sending. Generally a set builder, trying to focus on one set at a time (mainly 70s-90's now). Some player specific focus (Tommy John, John Franco, Rusty Staub, Jim Abbott). Haven't traded since 2019 (too busy with work), and can probably only handle 3-4 trades per month (again, work, family, etc), but I want to get it 100% right when I do trade.  If you think a trade is fair, I'll most likely agree because I'm not out to hustle anyone - I collect for fun (and to feed my OCD tendencies).

2022 represents an anniversary of collecting trading cards for 70 years. I spent 50 years as a set builder of baseball cards, but now I just collect cards of the above players with an occasional small set collection. At one time, I had an collection of complete sets of Topps and Bowman baseball cards (plus others) from 1954 forward plus quite a few cards from the 1952 Topps & 1953 Topps and Bowman sets. During the late 1980s and early 1990s I sold off the majority of those sets but still continued completing sets until 2002.  

I've been trading online since 1994 and welcome any trade offers.  If I offer a trade, the cards normally have already been pulled prior to an acceptance, counter or decline. It is not a problem for me to re-file or exchange cards in a trade if needed.  I do keep records of my trading with my partners addresses and occasionally recheck those traders for future trades or sometimes just send along a PIF (pay it forward).  My one major disappointment with this site is that I did not find it many years before I did.  I will usually mail cards out promptly with tracking, however letely I have used PWEs for relatively small value trades.  Saying this, I welcome trade offers.  I do not expect to ever wind up with compete collections of any of the players I collect, nor do I want to.  I try to just enjoy my collecting habit and strive to make new friends in the hobby!

Last but not least, I do not sell cards, trades only.

Set building is my major goal condition is secondary. I do not mind a small crease or a rounded corner if a card is needed to complete a set. 

I do not grade cards but I will let you know if a card has an obvious flaw before I accept the trade. 

I do not mind PWE trades. I always ship in bubble mailers and with tracking if the budget permits. That is my personal preference I do not require or ask it to be yours.

Collecting: I collect Topps flagship baseball mostly working on my vintage sets now, Bowman base, Pro Debut, and Qypsy Queen. Depending on my cardboard addiction I will dabble in inserts and parallels but usually I just trade them away. Autos will ALWAYS take priority in trades with me and I will trade multiple cards for a single auto.

Shipping: I usually only ship once a week typically on Friday. All trades sent by me will arrive in a padded envelope with tracking. I'm totally fine with receiving PWE, though. Unfortunately I am forced to have to decline international trades as I've had too many cards either held in or damaged by Customs. Sorry about that, Blue Jays fans.

Purchasing: Maybe. 99.9% of my interactions here will be trades but I will buy autos or more expensive one-offs to finish a set if it's reasonable.

My trade philosophy: Like to keep to a minimum of six cards due to postage. I am pretty easy going and not going to look up values on trades. If I have cards you want and you have cards I want, I am usually up for more of a 1:1 quantity trade assuming it's not me trading a bunch of SPs, serial numbered, etc, for base or junk wax. If you are going to quote Beckett pricing to me and not look at the actual market (e.g., card is listed on COMC for 1/2 of what Beckett says value is) then I am probably not the trade partner for you.  I prefer smaller PWE trades but will also do BMWT for larger trades or higher value cards. For my PWE, I will pack securely and use nonmachinable postage so your cards arrive safely.

Thanks for reading my profile. I enjoy trading cards I don't need for those that I do. I've been in this hobby for many years (I remember opening 1955 Bowman packs at our local candy store)! I usually don't pull my end before making a proposal; most times, I'm trying to get a feel for how doable it is, and it saves me from having to refile cards if things fizzle out or if I'm countered.  I will, however, (usually) pull before accepting a trade.  Please counter, if need be!  Communication is key to good trading!   I have some physical limitations..it may take me a bit to pull cards so your patience is appreciated!

I am really getting into NON-SPORTS cards in a big way. Superhero, movies, old TV shows...just about any and all subjects. I use the values listed in the database, not as absolute truths but more as a set of scales to weigh each side of a transaction.

I plan on trying to focus on just baseball, football and non-sports going forward. And to be honest, right now I'm trying to focus on non-sport. I'll trade baseball and football for non-sports. 

Collecting: I'm mostly a set builder, focusing on baseball, football and non-sports (movies and superhero type cards).

- Always had a soft spot for holograms.

- Prefer smaller sets to the mega series of earlier days. 900 card sets? Meh...

- Just got back into modern set building and I'm really liking Topps Allen & Ginter sets, although the gazillion subsets and variations is confusing/annoying.

- Really don't have true "favorite players" or teams. Gravitate towards Red Sox and Patriots but I don't fixate on them anymore.

- upgraded my Mac to a new MacMini and need to re-install scanner drivers, etc. Have some cards missing in the DB and I'll spend a day or two scanning once it's up.

Back to sorting cards and updating my collection online...

I am trying to collect:

Frank Thomas, Carlton Fisk, Bo Jackson, Robin Ventura, and other JWE stars like Rickey Henderson, Harold Baines,  Ozzie Guillen, Jose Canseco, Eric Davis, Will Clark, Albert Belle, Eric Davis, etc...I also love collecting reprints of Negro League Stars, specifically Satch, Gibson, and Papa Bell.  

I PC the Chicago Bears with a focus on members of the 1985 Bears picking up cards spanning their careers.  I have a few other Football Favorites like Larry Allen, Deion, Rice, Barry Sanders, Greg Lloyd, James Harrison, Devin Hester, Derrick Thomas, Lawrence Taylor, Christian Okoye, Julius Peppers and other random stars from the past.

I like old Bulls players and other stars from the 90's.  Shawn Kemp, Penny Hardaway, Gary Payton, Larry Johnson, David Robinson, any many more....
