Hi Fellow Card Nuts,

I am mostly a vintage collector, the cards and myself, but this year I was so excited about baseball being back that I bought a bunch of 2021 Topps, Heritage, and Finest etc. I even tried a few "breaks" and was happily surprised. Being a set collector I want to be sure to complete these sets including many of the insert sets. Having spent all my vintage money on new cards I decided that I should try to find someone to trade with. That led me to this site. What a cool site. I have already done 1 trade and mailed another. I hope to do many more. I am very careful with my cards and so all of the new ones will be mint and that is what I would expect in return.

I am also working on Topps Baseball sets from 1956 to 1980. I usually buy lots and compare each and every card and upgrade where I can. Lots of fun. However, I have found that at this point, I only need more 270 cards total, it is hard to buy a lot and actually get something I need. At this point I am looking mostly for individual cards that I need for those sets. I think trading these will be more difficult. I am not looking for mint cards but I do want nice cards. I hate creases or writting so please do not offer those to me for trades. I will do the same.

Lastly, I still have many many cards from the 90's in all sports that I am happy to trade. I went a little crazy back then which is why I switched back to vintage and really haven't bought anything new since 2001 or so, that is until this year. I am a SF Giants fan so if you want to add a card or cards to a trade to make it even I certainly would accept Giants cards, commons and inserts from 2002 to 2020 since I have very few of them.

I know I have a lot of work to do to add wantlist and trade cards to this site. If you dont see it please ask I might have it. I am still learning the actual steps needed to navigate this site and propose trades. I may just message you with an idea for a trade if I dont see anything in your trading list if I have something in your want list. I hope that is ok. I look forward to working with any and all of you. Thanks Art  (Ebay ID aaarrt)

Any and all Braves cards from 1954 - 2020 (RIP Hank Aaron).

I have decided to scale back from trying to collect every Braves card ever made and concentrate on the the sets I like. Lately it seems to be next to impossible to collect team sets since there are so many inserts, VAR, SP, and just all to many brands. Topps has once again turned collecting into $$$ for them by making so many different brands. The cost to collect is getting to be very expensive and making me question the hobby again. I still plan on trading and looking for the cards I am still missing.

Willing to trade just about anything for Braves cards......

Came across tcdb.com at the end of 2019, and have already completed over 600 transactions.  Love it so far.  (Stole this from another member, but......my goal is to have zero cards in my For Sale/Trade List.  So keep the trades comin'!)

Current Priority: Garrett Mitchell.  Focusing on 2020 Bowman Draft (any and all), so even if it isn't on my Want List, please feel free to add it to the trade.

Update #3 (10/20/21):  All 1977 sets (Baseball, Basketball, Football & Hockey) are now complete.  Thanks to all for the trades to help make it happen!

Update #2: 1977-78 Topps Basketball is now complete as well!

Update #1 to current project below: 1976-77 Topps Hockey is now complete! Well on my way on the other sets. Appreciate all the help to this point.

***My newest project is to complete Topps sets for all four major sports from 1977 (my birth year).  I have the complete set of baseball, but have now added all cards for 1977 Topps Football, 1976-77 & 1977-78 Topps Basketball, and 1976-77 & 1977-78 Topps Hockey to my Want List***

My PC is as follows (with TCDB rankings as of 10/05/2021):

NBA: Giannis (4), Dirk Nowitzki (2), and Tim Duncan (3).  (I also - unofficially - collect MJ , Kobe, & Larry Bird).

NFL: Aaron Rodgers (3), Davante Adams (2), Aaron Jones (1), Sterling Sharpe (3), Jaire Alexander (1), Brett Favre (19) and Don Majkowski (2).

MLB: Garrett Mitchell (1), Aaron Ashby (1), Roberto Clemente (1), Jackie Robinson (3), Walker Buehler (1), Robin Yount (13), Tony Gwynn (10), Hal Morris (3), Mark Grace (6), Ethan Small (1), Jo Adell (2), Pat Listach (3), Corbin Burnes (4) and Mark Langston (1).

WWE: Lita (7).

(Although I currently live in Florida, I was born in Milwaukee.....hence my obsession with Wisconsin sports teams.  Ha)

Please check out my For Sale/Trade list.  Feel free to message me any time.....let's see what we can get done!  (I don't necessarily trade based on "book value", but rather the value to me, so please feel free to counter if I propose a trade that you feel is unfair).

Cincinnati Reds Team Set Collector - 1909 (T206) to current Base and Traded sets, Food Issues, SGAs, and various Odd Ball Reds cards

Prefer PWE trades of 20 cards or less--but all trades and offers considered!  Trading/Selling all other MLB teams, football, and Non-sports.

If you are looking for junk wax to help build out sets, I have a lot of Topps 87-93, 87-90 Donruss, and 91 Leaf that I can let go cheap.  I can do 1988 Topps master team sets (with errors, leader cards, etc.) for pretty much any MLB team.

My goal is to grow my Cincinnati Reds collection and get other cards to people that will apprciate them.  I am very open to trade or purchase proposals.  I am also open to counter offers for trades that I initiate--so please feel free to review my lists and come back with an offer that works for both of us.  My hope is that every trade is a win-win for all.  Collecting and trading is about having fun--not making money.

Let's make some trades!  Go Redlegs!

Players from Delaware including Delino DeShields, John Mabry, Chris Widger, Randy Bush, Chris Short, Ian Snell, Joey Wendle, and others.

Cards on my for sale/trade list typically consist of the following conditions (I will let you know if an individual card is in worse condition):

2020-2010 - Fresh out of the pack, typically NrMt

2000-2009 - Ex-Mt to Nr-Mt (may have a fuzzy corner or show a little bit of edge wear from being in a box, especially if the card has a dark colored border)

1988-1999 - Cards from when I was a kid. Some may have some fuzzy corners or edge wear from being in a box. If the wear/damage seems significant I will let you know once I pull them.

1981-1988 - Some may have some edge wear, fuzzy corners, may have a dinged corner. Others may be straight out of the pack (I recently bought a bunch of old packs and opened them). I will let you know if there are any serious issues.

1980 and older - I typically include the condition. Most of these cards are EX at best. Some are a lot worse. I can send photos if you are interested, just ask.

I don't typically pay attention to centering unless it is really bad. If the card is legitimately miscut and you can see another card on it then I just throw it out and it won't be listed here (with the exception of some vintage stuff).

I prefer to trade my non-baseball for baseball cards, as I'm trying to focus my collection and reduce the space it takes up.

I ship PWE unless it's too many cards to fit or there's a card of significant value.

Remember getting 15¢ packs of Topps at the IGA, and then trading cards in the neighborhood.....

Just started with TCDB. Love the prospect of trading cards again...

Now the #1 collector of Ryan Klesko cards on TCDB!  With more to come!

PC: Ryan Klesko, Dale Murphy, Dave Winfield, Dominique Wilkins, Michael Conforto, Adley Rutschman, Nick Madrigal, Trevor Larnach, Cadyn Grenier, Gary Payton II, some rookie/early Bo Jackson, rookie/early/unique Eric Lindros, rookie/early Junior Seau. Looking for any Oregon State Univ alum in OSU or Team USA gear (AC Green, TJ Houshmandzadeh, Jacoby Ellsbury, Steven Jackson, Gary Payton, Nick Barnett, Matt Moore, Drew Rasmussen, Ochocinco/Chad Johnson, Sean Mannion, Johnny Hekker, Darwin Barney, etc).

PLEASE SEND TRADE OFFERS.  It's my favorite part of the hobby.  Always willing to negotiate a good deal for both sides.  One card, or 10+ cards.  I'm fine with any size.

I do NOT collect/keep any other cards of any other players/teams.  If the card isn't a unique card to me of one of my guys above, it's not something I will keep.  I don't want duplicates either.  I'll trade it or sell it if it's something I think I can move; otherwise, no thanks.  But I DO want any card of any of my PC guys if I don't already have it.  My trade/sell and want/wish lists are updated, so if it's not on those lists, it's highly unlikely that I'm interested in it, or I already own it.

Fan of: all OSU sports, Braves, Red Sox, Blazers, Chargers, Flyers, Timbers, Tottenham FC.

Goal for VINTAGE ONLY CARDS (condition NOT very important...just no rips/tears, no writing on the front...some creases ok): Hank Aaron (preferably in a Milwaukie uniform, but not required), Mickey Mantle pre-1965 (earlier the better), Babe Ruth any year, Joe DiMaggio any year, Sandy Koufax any year, Ted Williams pre-1955, Jackie Robinson any year and Stan Musial pre-1958.  Prefer to stay as cheap as possible, but for the right card might go a little higher...obviously Mantle and those guys would be more.  Again, condition I know won't be great at these prices.  But I have a Roberto Clemente, Bob Gibson, Ernie Banks and a Willie Mays at these levels, and 12 of Ted Williams, that I'm very happy with.

VERY willing to trade/negotiate.  I live to trade...send me all trade requests!  Would prefer trades to purchases, although I know my PC is pretty limited in the grand scheme of things.  Just getting back to the hobby after approx 30 years out of it, and about 17 years after selling off 99% of it to pay for our wedding.  I forgot how much I loved it!

***RECONCILING COLLECTION AND SALE/TRADE LIST, AND UPDATING WANTS***

**EMAIL ME IF YOU WISH TO TRADE AS I DO TAKE AN OCCASIONAL BREAK FROM REORGANIZING**

*Consider my vintage traders on a Bell Curve with the majority at VG. Scans will always be provided on questionable ones based on your condition demands.*

My priorities are these and they must be part of an offer for me to consider in trades involving less than 18-cards each way:

  • Any vintage (pre-1980) want from any sport
  • Any wax box cards
  • Any food issues
  • 1959 Topps Baseball (39% as of 8/27/21)
  • 1962 Post Baseball (55% as of 8/27/21)
  • 1966 Philadelphia Football (40% as of 8/4/21)

  • 1976 "Frankenset" of Crane, Isaly, or any other brand of baseball discs (75% as of 6/19/21)
  • 1976 Sunbeam NFL Stand-ups (41% as of 8/4/21)
  • 1977-78 O-Pee-Chee - Glossy Inserts Rounded Corners Hockey (9% as of 9/12/21)
  • 1978 Topps Baseball (73% as of 9/12/21)
  • 1978-79 Topps Hockey (32% as of 9/12/21)
  • 1981 Fleer Star Stickers Baseball (63% as of 8/27/21)
  • 1984-85 Topps Hockey (9% as of 9/12/21)
  • 1986 DairyPak NFL Players Superstars Series (Franken-set as I'll mix the colors as needed) (63% as of 8/4/21)
  • 1986 Fleer Star Stickers Baseball (81% as of 8/27/21)
  • 1988 Kenner Starting Lineup Talking Baseball All-Stars (90% as of 8/27/21)

  • 2015 Topps Heritage - New Age Performers (55% as of 8/28/21)
  • 2016 Topps Heritage - New Age Performers (5% as of 8/28/21)
  • 2017 Topps Heritage - 1968 Topps Game (7% as of 8/28/21)
  • 2017 Topps Heritage - New Age Performers (12% as of 8/28/21)
  • 2018 Topps - Legends in the Making (Series 1, 2, & Update) (87% as of 8/28/21)
  • 2018 Topps Heritage - 1969 Topps Deckle Edge (including High Number) (48% as of 8/28/21)
  • 2019 Topps Heritage - 1970 Topps Scratch-Offs (43% as of 8/28/21)
  • 2019 Topps Heritage - New Age Performers (84% as of 8/28/21)
  • 2019 Topps Update - Perennial All-Stars (76% as of 8/28/21)
  • 2020 Topps Heritage - New Age Performers (4% as of 8/28/21)
  • 2021 Topps - 1952 Topps Redux (88% as of 8/27/21)

My valuation method is simple and it is applied consistently 99% of the time:

  • Era-for-Era, HOF-for-HOF, common-for-common
  • Vintage will rarely ever be valued less than ANY modern card
  • I DO NOT USE TCDB PRICING AS A FACTOR - (If you do, that's your prerogative, and I suggest you look elsewhere for a trade)

I communicate as much as needed as my goal is that both parties in a trade are satisfied. I will send scans of any vintage I offer upon request because I do not trust my "grading" skills.

My condition requirements are very flexible on vintage (any pre-1980) card. I'm fine with multiple creases, rounded corners, above average wear, but I do draw the line on cards that are defaced by marks or paper loss (more concerned with fronts than backs) or are severely off-centered to where a label is cutoff or another card is visible. I don't expect your condition requirements to match mine.

For the "Right" deal I will work on modern-for-vintage trades going either way and am willing to hash things out, but those are not very often.

Finally, to reiterate, if cards you're offering are not mentioned in the list above, then I need for a deal to be at least 18-cards going each way.

Due to retirement I'm on a limited income and keep a strict budget so I trade mainly using PWEs and if a larger trade can be done cheaper using multiple PWEs, then I'll go that route.

All in all I believe I'm a fair, honest, and flexible trader and am willing to work things out. I am never offended by a counter offer and hope that neither are you.

Trade Fillers: Oddball cards, Food Issues, mid-90's basketball. I am pretty open to trades so don't hesitate to make me an offer for something not on this list.

Card condition: For new-ish sets I am only interested in near mint/mint condition cards. For older sets, I am ok with slightly less than near mint.

Check out my collecting goals here.

Please note: I can only trade Pokemon cards for Pokemon cards, so said the kid.

Typically, I do PWE (plain white envelope) trades but after a few successful transactions, I'll happily trade larger.

TRADING, BUT SLOW...

If I make you a trade proposal, and you don't want to trade, or you need time, or cards I want are pending, it's okay...i can deal with it.  I'd appreciate some sort of response though!  TIA!  That being said...

Lotsa football just loaded..for trade or sale!!  I try to respond to proposals in a timely fashion and, at least acknowledge that the proposal was received.

Top priorities:

2020 Bowman Sets .. BPs, BCPs

2020 Heritage High Series Set

2001-2007 Bowman Heritage (New)

Recent Phillies teamsets

2000-2005 Topps Traded/Updates

I love to trade, will reluctantly sell cheap, if we cannot swap!   Phillies is my team, and I do Topps and Topps and Bowman Heritage sets and Phillies team sets, all brands.  100s of references available - here, Facebook and online groups (Bench, TradingBases).  PWE trades are great - bubbles used if worth the shipping costs!  Slowing down though - the old body won't let me hoss those 5000 count boxes too much - thanks in advance for your patience with me!!

I started collecting baseball cards as a kid in the mid to late-80s and collected them through the early 90s. I started out collecting them with my old man, and I look back on those days wistfully. We'd sit up at night and put together sets and lists of our missing cards and that was a great thing to share with him. At some point, though, I outgrew wanting to share that experience with him, choosing instead to share the hobby with my friends. Then I started to notice girls and found other things to spend money on. I boxed up all the cards and traded the innocence of collecting baseball cards for other, less wholesome pursuits.

At some point over the course of the next 2 and a half decades, I somehow outgrew the nomadic life, became an adult, got married, found a permanent place to live, and jumped on the wildest ride of my life: fatherhood. In a fit of cleaning out my old room to make space for her new grandkids (my sister's kids at the time), my mother transported all of the cards from my childhood bedroom and brought them to live with me. To the attic they went, and in the attic they stayed for the better part of the last decade, hidden away and silent.

While working from home during quarantine, I repurposed the attic into a makeshift office to hide from my two kids, who were also at home, and who, despite my and my wife's best efforts, have no conception of privacy or quiet, and care very little for anyone else's productivity--especially when it comes at the expense of their most immediate desire. Stuck in the attic, armed with a laptop, and facing long days of working in solitude, there sat my baseball cards staring back at me, summoning me from a place and time long since gone. In a moment of sports deprived weakness, I answered their call and opened up a couple of boxes to look at my old collection. Glorious!

Within days of our local economy's soft reopening, I found a local card shop, escaped my attic, drove to it, donned a mask, and walked in to buy some new cards. I quickly learned that the days of the $0.50 pack had passed me by--quite a while ago it seems. Undeterred by the effects of what seemed to be hyper-inflation in an economy I had ignored for some 27 years, I left with not one, but two BOXES of baseball cards. Upon opening up the many packs of new cards, I discovered the advent of the insert card's prevalence, and that, unlike unicorns, autographed cards actually DO exist in packs (helllooo Pete Alonso!). Fascinated, and in need of boxes in which to store the cards and toploaders in which to protect them, it was back to the card shop for me. A couple of carboard boxes, a few bags of penny sleeves and some toploaders just couldn't be the extent of my second excursion. So, much like an addict in search of a fix, it was another box of cards for me.

But, this new lifestyle of big spending on cards I knew nothing about would prove to be unsustainable as my wife and I are also tasked with feeding, clothing, and sheltering (in place) these two children we created. Alas, it was back to the attic for me, and back to shuffling through all of my old cards, sorting out the commons from the hall of famers, sorting out the steroid users from the clean players. Thus, a new collection was born. Hall of Famers. Those are the cards I want to collect.

But, I needed a mechanism for organizing what I had, and what I wanted to get. When I bought my last pack of cards as something other than a novelty back in 1993, the internet was not yet a thing, at least not one to which I had access. I thought: Surely there is some mechanism online to help me organize these cards, and give me reason to continue sorting through this mess. And, after minimal searching on the worldwide web, I discovered TCDB. What a brave new world this is.

I look forward to getting back into the hobby. But, for now, I am going to stick to trying to collect Hall of Famers, mostly vintage (which, I have learned, is now a word in this industry that describes me). I'm less concerned with a card's grading, centering, corners, or condition than I am with the name and face on it. I'm not in this as an investment; I'm in it for an escape. Hopefully when this little 2 year-old ages a few more years, he'll begin to enjoy collecting baseball cards as much as his old man did once upon a time. If so, I hope to bequeath to him a worthwhile collection and to share the experience with him for as long as he'll have me.
