22. 2019 Choice Indianapolis Indians #03 Jake Brentz


4/3 KC: .2 IP, 1 H, 1 BB, 0 ER, 1 WP, 1 K

Helping anchor Kansas City's bullpen early, Brentz went unscored upon until his seventh outing in the Majors. His first two holds came on back-to-back nights vs the Angels. (April 13th and 14th)


23. 2019 Topps Heritage Minor League #40 Garrett Whitlock


4/4 BOS: 3.1 IP, 3 H, 0 BB, 0 ER, 2 WP, 5 K

A clear Rule Five steal who excelled in the rival Yankees system, Whitlock was fire in his Boston debut, scattering three baserunners over 3.1 innings scoreless while recording five strikeouts. Unscored upon in April, he allowed just eight baserunners in 13.1 innings of work and tallied three holds in six outings. Later, Whitlock locked down a win over Oakland with a 9-out save.


24. 2019 Topps Pro Debut #142 Akil Baddoo


4/4 DET: 1-3, HR, RBI, R

A sensation in Spring Training, Akil, a Rule V selection, did what he did best in his debut, blasting a home run on the first pitch he saw. Following that up? Try a grand slam in game two as the first player ever. He also entered the record books as the first player to homer out of the 9th spot in both of his first two career games. What about in game three? A walk-off single in the 10th. Later in the month, he seized the league lead in triples.

A fast-rising procpect in the Minnesota system before injuries struck, Wells got down to business in his debut, throwing a scoreless inning. He entered 2021 with a 2.82 ERA on the farms.

Pinch-hitting on April 11th, McKenna made his first career hit a triple.


27. 2018 Choice Dayton Dragons #NNO Mac Sceroler

Nephew of former Oriole Ben McDonald, Sceroler looked a lot like his uncle during one of his 24 complete games, striking out four over 2.2 innings scoreless.

A historic debut for Peacock saw him allow no earned runs to cross the plate over innings 11-13 as well as record a hit and a run in Arizona's decisive top of the 13th. Later, Matt permitted just three runs over 11.1 innings pitched in back-to-back starts vs the deadly lineups of LAD and STL.


30. 2019 Grandstand Pensacola Blue Wahoos #NNO Sam Clay


4/7 WSH: 1 IP, 1 H, 0 BB, 0 ER, 2 K

Clay joined the Nationals on a Major League deal in the offseason. Pressed into service when the team encountered a Covid-19 outbreak to start the season, Sam was a member of the Opening Day roster, then pitched to a 1.23 ERA in May.
