11. 2020 BBM Yomiuri Giants #G04 Hirokazu Sawamura


4/2 BOS: 1 IP, 1 H, 0 BB, 0 ER, 1 K (GF)

This ten-year NPB vet has pitched in every role throughout his career, starting out as a starter and later amassing 73 saves between 2015 and 2016. Unscored upon in his first five outings, he allowed just a single hit.


12. 2018 Topps Holiday Bowman #TH-JSH Jordan Sheffield


4/2 COL: 1 IP, 0 H, 0 BB, 0 ER, 0 K (GF)

Sheffield, a Vanderbilt product and the brother of Seattle's Justus Sheffield, was the first 2021 debut to notch a spotless debut. He persisted unscored upon through his seventh outing of the year, anchoring the Rockies pen.


13. 2018 Bowman - Prospects #BP108 Chris Rodriguez


4/2 LAA: 2 IP, 2 H, 1 BB, 0 ER, 3 K

A surprise addition to the Angels Opening Day roster, Rodriguez, once (and perhaps again in the future) a starter waylayed by injury, made the club as a long reliever. Debuting at 22, he fired two scoreless innings in his debut.

4/2 COL: 1.1 IP, 3 H, 0 BB, 2 R, 1 ER, 2 K

Rocky early, Bowden settled in after his first four outings, recording a 0.96 ERA in the next ten.


15. 2018 Choice Mobile BayBears #18 Jose Rojas


4/2 LAA: 0-1

An offensive powerhouse who was amongst the leaders in the Minors in almost every offensive category in 2019, Rojas got his first crack at the Majors after making LAA's Opening Day roster. Starting off slow, Rojas eventually broke out, hitting .429/.467/.714 in a four-game set against Houston in late April.


16. 2018 Choice Bowie Baysox Update #43 Zach Pop


4/3 MIA: 1 IP, 0 H, 0 BB, 0 ER, 0 K

Pop, an Ontario native, was a LAD draft pick who joined Miami via Baltimore and Arizona. He was as electric as ever in his debut, pitching a clean inning. He eventually hit the IL in August, but in his twelve prior outings his ERA was 0.71.


17. 2020 BBM #111 Kohei Arihara


4/3 TEX: 5 IP, 6 H, 0 BB, 1 HBP, 3 ER, 1 K

The first player in 2021 to debut as a SP was Arihara, the pitcher once drafted by three NPB teams in the same entry draft. Signed by Texas, Arihara's resume includes two NBP All-Star nods and a Japan Series Title. Starting off slow, Arihara recorded back-to-back scoreless 5.2 IP outings in his third and fourth starts.


18. 2018 Topps Holiday Bowman #TH-TS Trevor Stephan


4/3 CLE: 1 IP, 1 H, 1 BB, 0 ER, 2 K (GF)

Stephen struggled to find his footing in April, but came out strong thereafter, recording a 1.86 ERA in his first seven outings thereafter.
