2021 Major League Debuts

by DarkSide830 - 49 cards (Last updated on Apr 21, 2021)

2. 2020 Topps Heritage Minor League #93 Kyle Isbel

4/1 KC: 3-5, 2 RBI, R

Isbel won not just a 40 man spot but an Opening Day start out of camp in 2021, slashing .333/.420/.548. He entered 2021 with just 123 Minor League games under his belt. Batting 7th, Isbel paced the team with three hits and also produced three runs in KC's 14-10 victory.

3. 2020 SCC Battle Baseball Card Game Vol. 2 #SCCB2-20/019 Ha-Seong Kim

4/1 SD: 0-1

The crown jewel of the posting market in the 2020-21 offseason, Kim landed with SD, where he would have to make his name in a crowded offensive group.

4. 2020 Topps Pro Debut #PD-71 Taylor Trammell

4/1 SEA: 0-3, 2 BB, RBI, R

Emotional upon learning he'd made Seattle's Opening Day roster, Trammell had more than earned it with a huge spring .302/.388/.628. He overcame prospect fatigue and being dealt twice in as many trade deadlines. On April 19th he homered to provide the third run, then doubled to make the difference in a 4-3 win over defending World Champions LAD.

5. 2020 Topps Heritage Minor League #164 Jonathan India

4/1 CIN: 2-4, 2B

Cincinnati had an open infield spot available out of Spring Training in 2021, and it was India, not yet on the 40-man, who seized it. The Reds moved veteran Eugenio Suarez to SS to accommodate for India's rise into the 2B spot. Fittingly, he laced his first hit for a double. He was 10-21 in his first six games, hitting safely in each contest.

6. 2019 Grandstand Eastern League All-Stars #NNO Ka'ai Tom

4/1 OAK: 0-1

Once known just for his speed and singles hitting, Tom powered sixty extra base hits during a breakout 2019, then landed in Oakland in the 2020 Rule V Draft.

7. 2019 Choice Great Lakes Loons #NNO Brett De Geus

4/1 TEX: 1 IP, 1 H, 2 BB, 2 HBP, 3 ER, 0 K

De Geus struggled in his pro debut at Ogden, but exploded upon moving to the pen in 2019. Texas took note, and picked him up in the Rule Five Draft. He was 2021's first pitching debut. In his third outing he allowed a single hit and no walks over 2.2 scoreless innings.

8. 2020 Bowman Chrome - Prospect Autographs #CPA-TM Tucupita Marcano

4/1 SD: BB, R

A back-and-fourth bout between San Diego and Arizona on Opening day saw the lead change hands four times, and Tucupita - named after his hometown in Venezuela - played a key role, scoring the 7th run for San Diego that tied the game at seven before a Jurickson Profar sac fly the next inning put the Padres up for good.

9. 2019 Grandstand Lakeland Flying Tigers #13 Will Vest

4/1 SEA: 1 IP, 1 H, 1 BB, 1 WP, 1 R, 0 ER, 1 K

10. 2019 Grandstand Corpus Christi Hooks #NNO Chas McCormick

4/1 HOU: defensive replacement

McCormick, MLB's first Millersville position product since 1979, first joined Houston's 40 man during the postseason in 2020, though did not play during the postseason. In his first start on April 3rd he scored twice and also drove in a run in a 9-1 romp over Oakland.
