2020 Major League Debuts

by DarkSide830 - 212 cards (Last updated on Jul 18, 2023)

11. 2020 Topps - 1985 Topps Baseball 35th Anniversary Chrome Silver Pack (Series Two) #85TC-14 Kwang-Hyun Kim

7/24 STL: 1 IP, 2 H, 0 BB, 2 R, 1 ER, 0 K (SV)

St. Louis's de facto Opening Day closer for 2020, Kim debuted for the Cardinals on Opening Day and recorded the save. He then jumped into the team's rotation in place of Carlos Martinez. After being stretched out to 3.2 IP in his first start, Kim threw six scoreless innings for the win in his second.

12. 2019 Choice International League All-Stars #06 J.P. Feyereisen

7/24 MIL: 1 IP, 1 H, 0 BB, 1 ER, 1 K (GF)

13. 2018 Choice Syracuse Chiefs #14 Jose Marmolejos

7/24 SEA: 0-3

A three-run home run on July 30th vs the Angels proved the difference in a 8-5 Mariners win.

14. 2017 Choice Midwest League All-Stars #62 Enoli Paredes

7/24 HOU: 1 IP, 1 H, 0 BB, 0 ER, 0 K (GF)

Previously a starter in the Minors, Paredes entered 2020 with just 12 games of experience above the A+ level, but a great showing in the lead up to the season earned him a spot on Houston's Opening Day roster.

15. 2017 Choice Burlington Royals #27 Tyler Zuber

7/24 KC: 2 IP, 0 H, 1 BB, 0 ER, 0 K (GF)

Zuber improved throughout his quick minors climb while continuing to work in more high leverage spots. After an impressive multi-inning debut, it seems even more likely that Zuber is destined for a high end role with the Royals.

16. 2019 Choice Winston-Salem Dash #14 Codi Heuer

7/24 CWS: 1 IP, 0 H, 0 BB, 0 ER, 1 K (GF)

17. 2017 Grandstand Quad Cities River Bandits SGA #NNO Yohan Ramirez

7/24 SEA: 1 IP, 0 H, 2 BB, 0 ER, 2 K (GF)

Despite being selected in the 2019 Rule V Draft, Yohan did not look at all out of sorts early on in his Mariners tenure. Two of his first three appearances were of two innings and all were scoreless.

18. 2015 Grandstand Quad Cities River Bandits #NNO Ryan Thompson

7/24 TB: 2 IP, 1 H, 1 BB, 0 ER, 0 K

Thompson was a surprise early contributor in 2020 for Tampa. His 5th appearance was as an opener during which he allowed just a single baserunner in two innings of work.

19. 2019 Grandstand St. Lucie Mets #NNO Blake Taylor

7/24 HOU: 1 IP, 0 H, 0 BB, 0 ER, 0 K

Taylor got off to one of the fastest starts of any 2020 debut, quickly earning him a spot in the back end of an otherwise disastrous Astros pen. His first six outings were scoreless and featured his first win and hold in the Majors.

20. 2018 Choice Midwest League Top Prospects #27 Jonathan Arauz

7/24 BOS: 0-1

The 21 year-old Arauz started off slow in 2020, then quickly flipped the script and pushed his average to .348 following his eigth contest in the midst of a five-game hitting streak.

Great work.  It does look like someone is missing though.  I can't tell who, but 212 players debuted in 2020, and this list includes 211 ....
