by DarkSide830 - 212 cards (Last updated on Jul 18, 2023)

1. 2018 Grandstand Lansing Lugnuts #NNO Dany Jimenez

7/23 SF: .1 IP, 1 H, 3 BB, 1 ER, 1 K

One of just five players picked in the 2019 Rule 5 Draft to stick through Opening Day with their respective clubs, Jimenez was the first of this class to debut.

2. 2019 Choice Durham Bulls #12 Joe McCarthy

7/23 SF: 0-4

McCarthy started at RF for the Giants on Opening Day and became the first new debut of the 2020 season when he lead off the 2nd inning.

3. 2020 Topps #392 Luis Robert

7/24 CHW: 2-4, 2B

One of the big fish in the international free agent market a few years ago, Robert rose quickly to the Majors and into favorite status for the AL Rookie of the Year title. He proved he belonged in this conversation with an explosive start to the season, hitting safely in each of his first six contests, then recording four more knocks and nine total bases in his eighth.

4. 2020 Topps Pro Debut #PD-180 Evan White

7/24 SEA: 1-4

After starting off the 2020 season slow following an extension prior to the season, White caught fire in the second half of August. White was at his best in the second half of an August 22nd doubleheader, posting six RBI in a 10-1 Seattle romp over Texas.

5. 2020 Topps Pro Debut #PD-88 Andres Gimenez

7/24 NYM: defensive replacement

A surprise inclusion on New York's Opening Day roster, the middle infield prospect jumped AAA to become one of three 21 year-olds to debut on the 24th. When Robinson Cano went on the IL, Gimenez was more then ready to fill in. In his second start at second, Andres recorded his first three-hit game.

6. 2020 Bowman - Prospects #BP-127 Leody Taveras

7/24 TEX: defensive replacement

Another 21 year-old who jumped AAA to debut on his team's opening day as a defensive replacement, Taveras is one of Texas's top prospects. He edged out Gimenez as the youngest debut on the 24th by four days.

7. 2018 Choice Lakewood BlueClaws #23 Ramon Rosso

7/24 PHI: .1 IP, 1 H, 1 BB, 2 WP, 1 ER, 1 K

Rosso culminated a strange Minors climb that included a year with CB Barcelona in Spain, a lost year in the Dodgers system, and three great campaigns in the Phillies system that saw him zoom from the DSL to the Majors in just over three years in July.

8. 2019 Topps Heritage Minor League #18 William Contreras

7/24 ATL: defensive replacement

With starting catching tandem Travis D'Arnaud and Tyler Flowers not yet with the team in New York, the youthful Contreras, the brother of Willson Contreras, backed up a young catching tandem lead by fellow prospect Alex Jackson. By the time the starting tandem returned to health, Contreras was 4-10.

9. 2020 Topps #376 Shogo Akiyama

7/24 CIN: 1-2, RBI

A decorated former NPB outfielder who captured All-Star plaudits his last five years in the league and holds their single-season hits record, Akiyama came off the bench and drove in a run in his debut.

10. 2020 Donruss #263 Yoshitomo Tsutsugo

7/24 TB: 1-4, HR, HBP, R, 2 RBI

Tsutsugo flexed the HR muscle that helped him capture two NPB home run derby titles, an NPB HR title, and league All-Star plaudits each year from 2015 to 2019, homering and driving two runs in in his Rays debut.

Great work.  It does look like someone is missing though.  I can't tell who, but 212 players debuted in 2020, and this list includes 211 ....
