by theFalcon - 13 cards (Last updated on Jun 7, 2020)

1. 1975-76 O-Pee-Chee WHA #111 Mike Antonovich

The inspiration for Dana Carvey on "Wayne's World?"

2. 1976-77 Topps #209 Henry Boucha

Remember the headband? I can't recall anyone else wearing one.

3. 1974-75 Topps #37 Mike Corrigan

He put on a helmet with Pittsburgh at the end of his career ... maybe he should have done it sooner.

4. 1973-74 Toronto Maple Leafs #NNO Doug Favell

If the back of his head hit the net's crossbar, I doubt he would feel it.

5. 1976-77 O-Pee-Chee #332 Bill Flett

Hockey's first Mountain Man arrived during his years with the Flyers.

6. 1975-76 O-Pee-Chee WHA #96 Gordie Gallant

Hockey's smaller version of Ox Baker.

7. 1973-74 O-Pee-Chee - Light Backs #72 Guy Lafleur

When the helmet came off, the goals went way up.

8. 1972-73 O-Pee-Chee #263 Pete Laframboise

Could have been a stunt double when Richard Lester filmed 'The Three Musketeers' in 1973.

9. 1973-74 O-Pee-Chee #40 Jacques Laperriere

This is my problem now ... too much on the sides & back and not enough on the top.

10. 1973-74 Topps #39 Jim McKenny

An early example of the Ron Duguay look.

Yeah, probably not a great idea to have long hair in a sport that almost inevitably will have knockdown-dragout fighting. Seen too many girl fights to know they'll go for the locks.

My kind of list, though...this from someone who sported an afro in college and now lives with shaven head, sort of. I do the sides, and God did the top.
