How can you make a list like this and not include Mike Piazza on it. His three stops are so famous.

Apr 27, 2020 - 5:18PM
fedoratipper

@ckrakowski I forgot all about him! Thanks for the reminder.

Nice list. As expected, not exactly chock full of HOFers. But the Cubs got Aramis Ramirez in one of those deals, so that was nice. I'm a little surprised that no one did it twice. And I can't believe Edwin Jackson didn't make the list.

Excellent work.

@Vvvergeer Thank you! I'm shocked too considering how many teams he's played for.

Suprised me when this list came up. The hockey one had actually encouaraged me to work on a list for guys not that had played for a certain number of teams but that had cards for 3+ teams in one year.

DarkSide830

If I may I'd love to help out here. Nori Aoki is the first name that comes to mind here. Not only did he only play for one team in multiple years, but he added three new clubs to his list of teams played for in his final year - Houston, Toronto, and NYM. Jesse Biddle also appeared for each of the Braves, Mariners, and Rangers last year. Cory Gearrin appeared with SFG, Texas, and Oakland in 2018. Also very unsurprisingly Octavio Dotel appeared for each of Pittsburgh, the Dodgers, and Colorado in 2010 in looking into it. Juan Nicasio meanwhile may have accomplished a unique feat in leading the NL in pitching appearances despite playing for three teams, making a stop in Philly between stints in Pittsburgh and STL.

Apr 28, 2020 - 2:16PM
fedoratipper

@DarkSide830 Thank you! I will add them. As for that list you're thinking of doing, I know Mike Piazza definetly has cards with 3 teams in 1998.

Apr 29, 2020 - 6:29PM
DarkSide830

yeah, made sure to add him. He was the first one more than a few years old that i thought to add.

Apr 29, 2020 - 6:32PM
DarkSide830

also I forgot to note it last time but Joay Bats also qualifies a second time, as he played for all of ATL, NYM, and PHI in 2018. 7 teams between his first and last two years, yet only two the middle 13. crazy.

Charlie Finley had the benchwarmers of his 1972 Oakland A's bouncing all over the major leagues.  Guys who made three pit stops included Marty Martinez, Bill Voss, and Ollie Brown.

Dave Kingman!  Four teams in a year, all four divisions, and homered for all four teams!  (Was probably a jerk for all four teams and that might be the reason why he is on the list to begin with.)
