I don't know how they ever thought this would be a good idea.

Please let me know if you know of others. I'm sure there are many.

This may be my favorite list on the site now.  I did not know this was ever a thing they did.

The Rogie Vachon one is hillarious!

Does anyone know the reason why they did that? Could they not get photos in time so they cut corners?

O-Pee-Chee did not have photos of the players with their current teams. Often a new uniform colour was air brushed over the old one, or they just put a head on a body already in the correctly coloured uniform. In most cases, Topps which issued a smaller set a couple of months earlier than O-Pee-Chee, used photos of the players in their old uniforms instead of photo doctoring.

Weren't there a few Boston Bruins cards from the late '60s and early '70s similar to this?  There are Ken Hodge and Wayne Cashman cards with gloves numbered #17 ... which was NOT their uniform number.  Uggh, some of these cards also show Espo and Hodge wearing street pants.

Dave Balon's head is superimposed on Bobby Rousseau's body.

Rousseau was the only Canadien to wear #15 from 61-64.

#91 Harper is also on Rousseau's body.

This is a great list! Now that I've seen these cards, I can't 'unsee' it. Hillarious really.

You'll see some equally horrific examples of this "technique" here:
