The Scouts, I plan on doing a future blog on them. It could be tough since I wasn't born when they existed, but I do have a patch from them and the Kansas City Kings.

Great concept! The Washington NBA franchise could provide you with several cards- they have had three names that were used for only one season! (Chicago Zephyrs, Chicago Packers, Capital Bullets)

A suggestion, the Baltimore Stallions, part of the CFL’s failed Southern expansion that folded after winning the 1995 Grey Cup. | ||
Re: Baltimore Stalions. If I recall they spent short period of time named the Baltimore Colts CFL but the NFL challenged them on the name and apparently won.

Baltimore Stallions moved and bacame the Montreal Alouettes again when the US football thing died. There were: Baltimore Shreveport Pirates, Memphis Bulldogs (Maddogs possibly), Birmingham Barracudas, Sacramento Gold Miners (moved to Texas at some point I think), Las Vegas Posse, thats all I can think of off the top of my head. | ||

How about some short lived leagues? A couple football leagues that lasted only a few short seasons before folding the entire league. The USFL from 1983-85 had 18 teams, they have a 1984 USFL and 1985 USFL card set. The WFL lasted from 1974-75 a short season and a half with13 teams before folding up shop and calling it a day. My family had season tickets for the Chicago Fire in their only season. No WFL trading cards. | ||
Another suggestion, Michigan Stags/Baltimore Blades. Team moved from Los Angeles after two seasons to play at Cobo Arena. The team played terribly and was folded during the season to cut the owners’ losses. The Baltimore portion of the franchise was introduced a week later, but poor attendance and performance led to the team disappearing into hockey lore. The bright spot was the team helping Gerry Desjardins back to the NHL, who would help the Sabres to a SC final. Another player with notable success was Ed Johnstone. | ||
I don't think this database has any players in uniform documenting the WHA's New York Golden Blades/New Jersey Knights franchise of 1973-74. I saw the NYGB play a pre-season game at the end of Sept. 1973 against the Los Angleles Sharks at the South Mountain Arena in West Orange, NJ. In the middle of the season, the team departed Madison Square Garden for the wreteched Cherry Hill Arena, then moved to San Diego for the 1974-75 season. |
