Pro Wrestling Hall of Fame: WCW 1993-1995by stevejrogers - 13 cards (Last updated on Sep 10, 2022) |
Dropped after 1995, presumably to concentrate solely on the current product, which was white hot in the midst of the nWo angle. It was never resurrected. It would appear that the WCW Hall was attempting to be more "all-inclusive" to the sport than the WWF's, which was created at the same time, and concentrated on the inductee's time with the promotion. Only a few inductees, like Dusty Rhodes, Ole Anderson, and Wahoo McDaniel had made HOF caliber impacts (both in and outside of the ring) on the territory (Pre-WCW it was Jim Crockett Promotions/Mid-Atlantic under the NWA brand)/promotion through the years.
As far as I know, the honoree plaques were on display at the CNN/Turner headquarters in Atlanta. It is not clear what became of them since the WWF purchase of WCW, and all of its assets in 2001.

Excellent. As a HUGE Gordon Solie fan, I loved how they surprised him with his induction. Also I seem to remember seeing little Cody Rhodes with Dusty at his. |
