My Top 10 Favorite George Brett 1991-1993 Cards (That I Own)

by midbellman - 10 cards (Last updated on Jan 26, 2015)

10. 1992 Panini Stickers #21 Rickey Henderson

You are probably wondering if I made a mistake. This isn't a George Brett Card. Au contraire! Take a look at the back. Panini...you are so tricksy.

9. 1991 Line Drive Collect-a-Books #28 George Brett

Like #10, the back is what I like about this card (booklet). What can I say that I haven't said on other ton ten lists? I like silly caricatures.

8. 1993 Fleer Fruit of the Loom #7 George Brett

Ok...The only reason that I put this card in the top ten list is because it was put out by Fruit of the Loom. I have this picture in my head of buying a pack of underwear only to get the hidden card inside.

7. 1993 Baseball Card Magazine / Sports Card Magazine #BBC27 George Brett

Magazine cards are fun because they are all about the information and making their cards look retro. Most standard branded cards are all about the stats and trying to look hip.

6. 1992 MooTown Snackers #21 George Brett

Can't say I ever had a Mootown Snacker. They must have been more regionalized. Cool card. I find it funny how many of the Oddball card weren't allowed to show the team's name in the picture.

5. 1993 Pacific Spanish - Jugadores Calientes #2 George Brett

This is probably the most recent addition to my collection from this era of cards. The diamond holographic pattern is cool. It's also written in Spanish.

4. 1991 Score #853 George Brett

I remember getting the card when I was a kid and thinking it was one of the coolest poses I've seen from a sports player. If you have read any of my other lists, you know that I am not a fan of posed pictures, but I have a few exceptions, this being one of them. See the #1 from my Top 10 Favorite Bo Jackson Cards (1990-1991) for another example.

3. 1995 Cardtoons #9 True Brett

Silly caricature...need I say more.

2. 1991 Topps - Desert Shield #540 George Brett

I have had several family members that have served in the armed forces and I am very thankful for their service and for all service people that protect our country. It was nice to see that Topps first issued these cards to the service people. I am proud to have it in my collection.

1. 1993 American Holding Company George Brett #5 Major League Record Holder

This one of my favorite George Brett sets. It only has 6 cards in it, but they are beautifully done and a very fitting tribute to his career. Do you agree with my list? What are your favorite cards from this era? I would love to read comments from other collectors and respond.
