We're #1

by Billy Kingsley - 36 cards (Last updated on Jan 10, 2022)

1. 1999 Press Pass - Skidmarks #16 Bill Elliott

My first card serially numbered 1 of something. Pulled from a single pack purchase in 1999.

3. 2001 Press Pass Trackside - Golden #34 Stacy Compton

Barely visible, the 01/50 is on the bottom left corner of the card front.

7. 2002-03 Upper Deck Ultimate Collection - Buybacks #55 Kenyon Martin

Pulled from a box purchase. Back in the day I actually went for the high-end stuff.

10. 2013 Press Pass - Color Proof Cyan #15 David Gilliland

Both the 2013 Press Pass cards in this list were pulled from the same box.

Nice collection Billy. I'm not sure I've ever owned a card numbered 1 of anything. I'm not nearly so organized as you though, so maybe I have and don't remember.

It was really just luck of the draw on all these...and a couple more I have not uploaded yet. I pulled most of them, and the ones I didn't pull I got regardless...it was just an added bonus that they were #1 of whatever. The more boxes you open, the higher your chances for pulling something cool, and back in the mid-2000s I opened 2 or more boxes per week :)

Are all the scans yours? I can tell the ones numbered on the front are. You could run into a case where 15/100 was already scanned in before you acquired 1/100.

So far they are. I don't know why it doesn't show the back scan of the first card on the list- I posted it to the Database last year sometime. I have one yet to be uploaded that may not make it to the Database- it's of an NBA player currently ranked in the top 3 in percentage posted, and it's not a low numbered card- there are 2998 other copies out there.

Nice collection. I too like collecting the #1s, and also the last card of a serial # series 25/25 anyone? For favorite players I like their jersey number but PLEASE people these are NOT 1/1s. Other fave numbers are 9/ 42/ 007/ (has to be "00" from a set of 100 or more, not just "7" LOL)

Lasts are cool too but I don't have as many of them- and it would be harder to figure out since here I can just sort my Excel charts by actual SN, whereas the last I'd have to go through each number. It could be done, I just have better things to do, LOL.

I like #88 and 164 as well. I also like repeaters, IE 444.

Random oddball thought: 15 of 32 have the number on the front.

A certain card seems to be missing from the list.
