October 27th, 2018. In 2018, FC Cincinnati was the regular season champions of the USL soccer league. They were favored by many to win the championship that year. After squeaking by Nashville SC in a penalty kick shoot out in the first round, Cincinnati played the New York Red Bulls II in the conference semifinals. Although FC Cincinnati was the regular season conference champions and the number one seed in the Eastern Conference, they were stunned 1-0 by the underdog New York Red Bulls II in Cincinnati at Nippert Stadium. |
