Baseball Rookie Card Collection

by JoshReese92099 - 76 cards (Last updated on Feb 12, 2017)

3. 1972 Topps #142 Chris Chambliss

Love the trophy, iconic, by far one of my top 3 sets ever.

5. 1978 Topps #703 1978 Rookie Pitchers (Larry Andersen / Tim Jones / Mickey Mahler / Jack Morris)

I hold a weak spot for multi-player rookies, this is no exception.

6. 1979 Topps #116 Ozzie Smith

Got as a present last Christmas, slightly offcut, but a great card nonetheless.

7. 1975 Topps #623 1975 Rookie Infielders (Phil Garner / Keith Hernandez / Bob Sheldon / Tom Veryzer)

Bought at the card shop last month, great shape for a set that is difficult to put together.

8. 1980 Topps #482 Rickey Henderson

The Man of Steal. Got it as a present last Christmas. Just an iconic card.

9. 1981 Topps #302 Dodgers Future Stars (Jack Perconte / Mike Scioscia / Fernando Valenzuela)

Fernando is one of my favorite players and I am trying to get all of his rookie cards.

10. 1981 Topps #479 Expos Future Stars (Tim Raines / Roberto Ramos / Bobby Pate)

New HOF-inductee, wish he was in the center of the card.

Nice list. If you haven't already, you can check out my list of underrated rookie cards for some more ideas. There are the obvious staples (meaning hall of fame players), but there were also a ton of great ball players and fan favorite rookie cards to collect for as well from back in the day. Most of my collection is from the 60's, 70's, 80's, and 90's, but it's nice to see some of the more modern rookie cards on your list.

Thanks Joey, I am trying to get more older cards, but many of them are hard to find in good shape, I'm only 17 so I have more of the newer stuff since that's what's available to me haha

Thanks for posting this cool list. I like that 1980s Topps #482 Rickey Henderson. You must of had some of that cards aura on you, when you got that 1982 Topps #21 Cal Ripken Jr. in perfect condition for 30 dollars. I believe that was quite a steal. Good for you. That 1993 SP #279 Derek Jeter is a good one too. Nice collection of great rookie cards you got going there.

I like you, Kid. You've got a sense of history of the game and the cards. Nice collection, too. You should get your collection on the site and scan some of those cards in. Welcome! V3
