My Completed Setsby Billy Kingsley - 266 cards (Last updated on Jun 24, 2022) |
Since I am OCD, I also have kept track of when I completed many of the sets. If I know the exact date, I will include it in the caption. I also had the idea, circa 2004, to record the last card I needed to complete the set, if I wrote it down, that is the card I will use for this album.
71. 1995 Action Packed Hall of Fame #2 Dick McGuire
When I first discovered NBA cards these were still available at my local Kmart. I bought a few then, but I don't know when I completed it, as I only documented and counted my cards in 2011. |
72. 1995 Maxx Medallion #42 #16 Ford
This set didn't get it's date of completion recorded, but I did record the final card I needed, but...it's not this one. When I was creating this gallery I missed the note that card #59- Mike Wallace's car- was the last one I needed, but I couldn't figure out how to remove this one and put the right one on. Oops! |
73. 1997 Wheels Jurassic Park #15 Bobby Hamilton
I didn't keep track of the date I completed this one, but I did keep track of the card number. I would have completed it sometime in 2004-2006, when I finally finished my NASCAR card listing in January 2007 it was done. |
74. 1989-90 TG Racing Masters of Racing #262 Red, White, Blue
This set - one of the best ever - was sold as multiple series, which I got all at the same time. |
75. 2005 Press Pass #95 Jeff Gordon
I completed this set in 2005 but I don't always stay up on my card listing- so the exact month and day is lost. This was the last card I needed though. |
76. 2005 Press Pass Legends #27 Davey Allison
I completed this set in 2005 but I don't always stay up on my card listing- so the exact month and day is lost. This was the last card I needed though. Yep, two in a row. |
77. 2005-06 Topps #54 Ricky Davis
This is the last card I needed from the set; I didn't write the exact day but I do know it was November 2005. |
78. 1996-97 Topps #111 Checklist: 1-110
This card was a tough one to track down. I bought a factory set in 1997, but the Checklist was not included. It was significantly short printed. I eventually traded a couple of autographs for it, and it arrived in the mail on 12/14/05...finally! This had been my #1 most wanted card from 1997-05....thus making me possibly the only person to have a checklist as their #1 most wanted. |
79. 1991 Galfield Press Pioneers of Racing #88 Tim Flock
I got this factory set while on Cape Cod, but I didn't keep track of the date. This may be the best card image ever- the monkey had his own driver's suit and helmet and was a passenger in 8 races (3 of which Tim Flock won) |
80. 2006 Traks #68 Mark Martin
A revival of an old name, Traks had dissapeared after 1996, Press Pass brought it back in 2006 and 2007. This was the last card I needed and I completed the set on 6/8/06 |

As a straight up baseball guy (who briefly dabbled in football and basketball-don't know where those went), it's fascinating to me what people collect. Nice list. V3

Great list!

Cool list and achievements.

Set #1 is my favorite. I have 25 of those cards and hopefully will get the whole set one day. Great era of Monster Truck racing.
Great list.

The trade with Billy for his last card to complete his 158th set was my first trade on the DB. Nice list Billy.

I JUST now saw all your comments, thanks folks!

I had no idea that a Bill & Ted card set existed. Very cool!

The Marvel Universe cards...I wasn't ever into comics, but most of the boys in my class were collecting these cards, so I did as well. Everybody was trading and working on sets...and chasing those holograms!
| ||
Man, Billy! I get excited about basketball everytime I read a list of yours. I didn't see 90-91 Skybox or Hoops as completed. Are they, but just not logged in?
Dave, most excellent! Kin, still chasing those holograms myself! Commish, I have not completed Skybox yet, but I did complete Hoops, I forgot to list it on here though!
It's surprising to me how very few of MY very few sets are in your list! In NASCAR, I saw 2010 Legends on the list. I pulled that whole set from one hobby box. 2009 Press Pass Racing, I still have an unopened factory set of that as a freebie from D&A Cardworld. 1996 UD Road to the Cup Racing, you just sent me the next to last card I need to complete that set about a month ago, but still missing that last one. Where are the NBA sets that I actually own? I HAD the 92-93 sets of Skybox and UD until someone stole a bunch of my cards. I actually had almost every complete set released for NBA cards that season. I picked specific sets to replace the missing cards from those years and re-completed the full Stadium Club and Ultra sets. I kept/re-completed a few of the insert sets from various brands for that year too. BUT, I mostly traded away cards from anything that year to finish my Club and Ultra sets. I also have the 1994-95 Ultra set and the Series 2 set of 1997-98 Z-Force (loved that brand). Back to the Marvel cards mentioned before, 1990 Impel Marvel Universe is the TOP non-sport set that I would love to complete! The holograms are RARE and I have 2 of them already. But I loved the design so much that I went after the 1991 Impel Marvel Universe set hard when it was released and it still took me 15 years to get the last two base cards I needed to complete that set. I completed the 5-card hologram set LONG before I completed the base set!!! I haven't even mentioned my MLB/NFL complete sets or the other NASCAR sets I've completed. I generally don't go after complete sets, but when I get close enough or really like the set, I'll try to complete it.
| ||
That's the neat thing about the hobby, odds are nobody's collection will be exactly the same. If I had lots of money I'd complete a lot more sets, LOL! I'm curious to see what my first completed Hockey set will be. I know I have two factory sets waiting to be opened so I could make it one of them pretty easily, but I don't want to do that just yet...
This is a very cool list Billy. As very much a non-set collector I am always fascinated by the people who go after complete sets and how they go about competing them. That is something I could never do, and that's ok. My collection is on random, always has been always will.
Oh there's a ton of randomness to my collection. It's just really luck when I do complete a set these days! |
