Sets in my Collection, vol. 3: NBA

by Billy Kingsley - 105 cards (Last updated on Jan 10, 2022)

72. 1994-95 Flair #10 Kevin Gamble

The Flair brand started out rather slowly, the first year just doesn't do much for me.

73. 1994-95 Fleer #176 Cedric Ceballos

Another of my favorite sets, I ranked this #10 in my Top 20 Favorite Sets countdown, although if I were making the list now I would probably place it 11th. Each team had a different color- usually a team color but not always- in foil behind the name, which varied in color as well, It looks really great in hand, but not so much in scans. The black borders on the back are somewhat condition sensitive, as is expected for black borders. I finally completed this 390 card set in 2018. Complete!

74. 1994-95 Hoops #51 Robert Pack

This set is a favorite of mine, so much so that I ranked it #2 in my Top 20 favorite sets list. It has so much going for it- large, clear photos (Don't go by the scan, they are all washed out on here) full career statistics and a writeup, and it even included the jersey number! While clearly visible in this photo they are not all visible. For me, that was a big deal as this was one of the first sets I got when I got into the NBA, and it helped me learn a lot. In fact, this was one of the possible three sets that could have been the first NBA box I ever opened- with 1990-91 Hoops and 1994 Action Packed Hall of Fame. Complete!

75. 1994-95 Jam Session #109 Stacey King

More tall cards. The set design is a regression from the year before. To tell you what I think about these cards- I've completed one of the first two years of Jam Session, but I don't remember which one! (And I am too busy writing captions to go and look)

76. 1994-95 SkyBox Premium #130 A.C. Green

The 1994-95 Skybox set is kind of an inversion of the 1993-94 set. While 93-94 had a white name bar, 1994-95 had black...but I like this set less than the previous year because series 1, of which this card is, has the Skybox logo embossed, which means if you try to stack them, they topple over. Apparently Skybox realized quickly the mistake, because series 2's logo is foil, but NOT embossed. Complete!

77. 1994-95 SP #95 Elden Campbell

The SP name makes it's debut with this set, and it's one of the better SP sets. I know a lot of people consider the SP brand their favorite- but not me. Once you get past 1997-98 it's mostly just cutouts of the player in front of either white nothing or some computer generated design. Bah.

78. 1994-95 SP Championship #103 Shaquille O'Neal

SP Championship was a short lived release, issued for only two seasons, of which I've completed neither.

79. 1994-95 Stadium Club #197 Anthony Peeler

The 1994-95 Stadium Club set is pretty similar to the 1993-94 set in front design, but I like it a little better. Complete!

80. 1994-95 Topps #110 Brad Daugherty

The first Topps set to feature foil on the base cards. Design screams 90s. Not a bad thing, but not one of the better Topps sets either.

81. 1994-95 Topps Embossed #66 John Starks

This set was one of the first I did a box of- and I came up one card short, which I chased from sometime before 1998 through 2016, when I finally got it on COMC. Complete! These cards are quite hard to stack because they are all embossed on both sides.
