1. 1981 Topps #3 1980 Runs Batted In Leaders (Cecil Cooper / Mike Schmidt)
Awesome players. Really enjoy the symmetry of both wearing pinstriped uniforms along with the contrast of Cooper immersed in almost all blue backdrop and Schmidt in green. |
2. 1981 Topps #33 Rick Honeycutt
Nice follow through, cropping, home uni, cool name. Under the radar good career. Starter at first, won ERA title in '83. Bullpen workhorse later in career. Weird looking outfield fence! Looks like its made out of planks from an old moss-covered barn. |
3. 1981 Topps #38 Win Remmerswaal
Solid set position shot. A pitcher namer "Win", got 3 of them in short career. Born in the Hague, Netherlands. |
4. 1981 Topps #55 Mike Norris
Great follow through leg kick. Check out the stats on the back. 22-9 with a 2.53 ERA in '80. Almost won CY, second to Steve Stone. Watched Wade Boggs on "Ripping Packs" the other day. First card he pulled was Norris and he said "Mike Norris, he was nasty" |
5. 1981 Topps #56 Buck Martinez
100% grass/green backdrop. I believe he's having a very nice commentator career now. |
6. 1981 Topps #62 Joe Pettini
Bold shot. Got the glasses, mustache, turtleneck, 100% blue sky backdrop. |
7. 1981 Topps #92 Mike Easler
Nicely cropped swing follow through shot with bold uni and dugout backdrop. |
8. 1981 Topps #125 Andre Dawson
Any Hawk card is likely going to make my favorite lists. Great dugout shot here, love the Expo uni, looks like he's wearing two different batting gloves. |
9. 1981 Topps #136 Doug Capilla
Tons of blue, I like the combo with red border. Bright Cubs uni. Short career, best season probably '81. |
10. 1981 Topps #229 Rollie Fingers
The mustache commands attention and it works. HOFer in classic vintage Padre kit. |
