Love the idea! Maybe you can add the party affiliation, too. Also, what if they stunk at both!

Awesome list. Never thought about this, but knew only of Kane AKA Glenn Jacobs. If you were looking to expand on the holding office criteria to running for it, I could include NASCAR driver Hermie Sadler who ran for Senate District 17 in VA this year (although he lost). It seems there was another NASCAR driver as well, but can't recall for certain at the moment or find anything from a brief online search.
While still an active VFLer, he was elected to the Legislative Assembly of Victoria as the MLA for St. Kilda. Served 1964-82.
Maurice Britt, Lt Gov Arkansas George Fleming, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/George_Fleming_(American_football)

Christian Estrosi, former motorcycle racer and current mayor of Nice, France.
Currently on the list, Ibrahim "Obby" Khan was re-elected yesterday. His closest rival, Willard Reaves, was also a former Winnipeg Blue Bomber with cards in early 80's Jogo sets.
Reaves has been a candidate a few times, but never elected, so does not qualify. |
