I knew someone who knew that person on a card or I met them in person or etc.

1. 2001-02 Louisiana IceGators ECHL #NNO Alphonse

I met Alphonse at a game in Lafayette, Louisiana. He is a real stand up kinda mascot. Caffienated all the time. He signed my hockey puck.

2. 1977 Topps #505 Oscar Gamble

A friend from high school lived across the street from him in Montgomery AL. Saw him in front of his house maybe once doing yardwork.

3. 1977 Topps #501 Jim Bibby

Uncle of a classmate and football teammate at Ft. Hood TX in 70s. He talked about him a few times.

4. 1981 Donruss #42 Calvin Peete

A friend from the hood in Ft Hood TX in 70s family was friends with him. He talked to him on phone sometimes.

5. 1991 Pro Set SuperStars MusiCards #194 King's X

I met the band after a gig in Little Rock Arkansas. They signed my really old fan club badge from the 90s. Got all their albums.

6. 2019 J2 Cards New Wave #49 General Public

Saw them in Montgomery AL in 1985. They opened for Hall n Oats. I left the front row after they finished and I saw Ranking Roger getting a hot dog and got his autograph on my ticket and chatted for a few minutes. Then these two girls had me take their picture with him. I found my friends and we went to their tour bus where Dave Wakeling signed my ticket too.

7. 1996-97 Southwest Airlines Dallas Stars Postcards #NNO Mike Modano

It was summer of 93. The Stars were about to start their first season in Dallas. I stood in line at a Target in the Dallas area where Mike Modano was signing promo photos. He was politely asking everyone their name and then doing a nice To so and so with signature. Still have the photo.

8. 1991-92 Topps #391 Daryl Reaugh

My brother wanted a card of "the Razor". I had a duplicate of this one. Didnt ask why. Daryl was the announcer for Stars games. So the next game we went to my brother had the card and went to the announcers booth about 20 rows up from us and poked his head in the door and asked Razor to sign the card, which my brother said suprised him. LOL. My bro was so proud of that autograph.

9. 2005 Choice Fort Worth Cats #13 Logan Stout

A coach of my nephew's little league travel team. They were a good team. I remember they played a tournament in Puerto Rico and became first non puerto rican team to ever win the tournament.

10. 2006 CPBL #058 Jason Bass

Jason or Jayson? Jayson on one database site. We were at a Saraperos de Saltillo game. Sitting behind 3rd base dugout, Bass played for Saltillo. He hit a foul ball, it went way up high and came down right into my left hand hitting my thumb and breaking it. It healed but to this day it hurts a little when I bend my thumb. Funny thing is we went to a Monclova game the next summer and they have seats at ground level under the stands above that are in between the dugouts and you can see through the glass into the dugouts. We sat on the end next to the Monclova dugout. Sure enough I turn to look in the dugout a few innings in and Jayson Bass is sitting right next to me. Me and my wife laughed out loud. He was traded to Monclova from Saltillo,

I had chemisty class in high school with Josh Norman in 1997. I was a sophmore and he was a junior. Norman was one of star football players for Midland Lee.

Thanks for the list.  I really enjoyed reading it.
I went to high school (Lawrence, Kansas) with Steve Jeltz, MLB career, mostly with the Phillies.  I wasn't very impressed with him. Tremendous natural ability but no work ethic. Of course he was talented enough to get by with that.
Danny Manning, NBA, went to Lawrence High when my younger sister was there. I went to a couple of basketball games just so I could say I saw him play.  I never met him but his mom worked at the same elementary school in Lawrence with my mom. My mom said he was a very polite young man.  When Danny was at KU and on the cover of Sports Illustrated (1988?) my mom got me an autographed magazine. Hmmm, I wonder where I put that.  I remember buying a hard plastic magazine sleeve for it. Somewhere in my basement.
I've had a few other "brushes" with professional athletes. Most have been positive.
Thanks again for the list.

Ron Blomberg. My grandfather was roommates with him for the year in the Yankees minor league system when they were both with Kinston. You can find him on BR.

This is a great list.  One of my friends in elementary school was family friends with Dave Kingman.  We tried calling him once when I was over at his house but Dave didn't answer.

Nice list. I went to the same elementary school as Alex Gordon. One of my neighbors also went to high school with Eric Dickerson.

I met Mario Lemieux at a penguin game. I was with my dad, uncle, and cousin, and after we left our box suite, we walked by his box suite, which he was standing outside of taking a picture with someone. He asked us if we wanted a picture and we said yes.

I went to high school and played football with Mark Ingram III. Never had a class with him but saw him around. He transferred out in my sophmore year, so I didn't really get to know him. I was trying out for the football team (As a QB) and made it as a second stringer. (Tore my ACL a little while later during a game in my freshman year, so that basically put an end to my playing days). At the same time, Mark was the starting running back. He was never really utilized in schemes while I was playing, which is strange looking back at it. None of the other people on that high school team made it to the NFL but him.
