In addition to the similar visual elements, the player photos are to the same scale as the 1979-80 Topps set, so this really fits right in.

The 800-card 2008-09 OPC set paralleled the regular set and is too many cards to think about. This parallel set also had a blank back parallel...

as well as a Rainbow parallel numbered to 100.

It also included a four-card Wayne Gretzky subset, all on theme...

And 8 box bottom panels comprised of 32 separate cards.

This 33-card subset of the 2009 OPC baseball set included 10 hockey cards...

and 23 baseball cards, which look great. The skate design on the back is replaced by a baseball cleat.

You won't see OPC do this again, however. Since 2007, the O-Pee-Chee name has been owned by Upper Deck. Topps won a judgment in 2009 prohibiting the company from reusing Topps designs.

Gizmo's Sportscards added a black border at right and bottom and switched the team and player names in this minor league set. But, to my eye, it's still the 1979-80 design.

Topps included six throwbacks to 1979-80 hockey in this 2019 set, all limited to 347 copies.
