I really like this list. I would like to do something similar. How did you add images for your signed cards here, replacing the default photo?

cjswinko:  Call up the specific card whose image you want to change, click on the drop down menu for additional details, choose "View/Add Image", and (in my case) use Method 2 to upload image from computer.  If you want to create a list of these cards, you have to temporarily close the list in order to add the card to the list, but you probably already know this.

I'm curious about getting into obtaining autographs, do you have any advice on how to get TTM autos?

twinswin:  I use Sports Card Forum as my primary resource.  It is free, but you have to register to access their TTM Manager, which not only provides player addresses but also gives you a sense of who has been signing lately ("Recent Successes").  I also watch youtube videos of other collectors who send out TTMs to get ideas of people who are signing.  Some of my favorites are Michael Myers, Johnny Serena, and Math Bowler -- but there are plenty of others.

When you send a request via TTM, send 1) a self-addressed stamped envelope (SASE) with your address on it along with 2) the item you want signed inside an envelope made out to the player.  Put your address in the upper left corner of both the outgoing letter and SASE so that if the post office has a problem delivering one or the other, it will in all likelihood come back to you.  Some people also enclose a couple index cards on either side of their item to "protect" it from damage.  Sometimes that results in a few additional autographs on the index cards.

I'll take an occasional flyer but predominantly send to people who have a history of signing for fans consistently AND recently.  By doing that, my success rate is in the low 80% range (5 out of 6 come back).  You'll have the most success with retired players.  Mike Trout and Lebron James are most likely not going to respond to your requests.  However, you can get autographs from lots of Hall of Famers in different sports -- some of whom will sign for free while others will sign for a reasonable fee ($5 to $10).  Sports Card Forum will give you an idea of who requires a fee.

Don't send anything in the mail that you cannot live without.  Even if you send to a player with a 99% success rate, you might be in the 1% that the postal service manages to lose or damage your item, or the player somehow misplaces it.
