After the 2019 season, the Bengals moved on from quarterback Andy Dalton who had been the starter in Cincinnati for nine years and selected Joe Burrow with the first pick in the 2020 draft. The Bengals also moved on from other key players from the Marvin Lewis era: A.J. Green, Geno Atkins, Vontaze Burfict, Tyler Eifert, Carlos Dunlap, and Giovanni Bernard all within the first two seasons of Zac Taylor's tenure in Cincinnati and replaced them with a new young crop of players, Burrow, Tee Higgins, Jamar Chase, Sam Hubbard, and Jesse Bates III, clearly marking a change in direction of the franchise.
