I am looking at my collection of 1984 Topps baseball. There are 792 cards in the set. The site says I have 772 cards in my collection. Looking at the "don't haves" it shows 18 cards including the send away offer which I dont count as part of the set. Taking that away leaves 17 cards. 792-772 = 20, not 17. What is wonky here?

Did you try unplugging the set first?

Yeah then I whacked it on the sides but still couldnt get channel 2

Lol, I have that happen on a few sets, and consider myself well versed in math, and I still can't figure it out. I think a good percentage of the trouble lies with those "offer" and "ad" cards, which I think should go with inserts, promos and such.

It's always the offers and other NNO cards for me. There is a set that TCDB thinks I'm 100% on, even though I am missing a card, because I own the NNO checklist. So my total number of cards equals the total number in the set.

I'm going to reevaluate how I collect after the new year. It's just getting way too expensive for the new stuff. Sometimes I just want to buy a pack, not a whole box or even blaster. |
